KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Live to Florida now, Bob Schindler taking the mic to talk about his daughter Terri Schiavo. Practically within an hour, doctors going to halt the food.
(JOINED IN PROGRESS)
BOB SCHINDLER, TERRI SCHIAVO'S FATHER: ... for him to turn this thing around and use every resource he has possible to save Terri's life. So that's the crux of the talk we had with him. And as an individual, he has high integrity and compassion. And he's tall, too, which shocked the daylights out of me.
But I'm really impressed with the man, and very pleased, and I know I felt a lot better when we came out of his office than before we went in there, and we're on the same page. He's on the same page as our family. So basically, that's how that went. We were with him for about half an hour, and he was just fantastic.
QUESTION: Bob, is there any specifics that he told you that he was going to work on with his legal department, anything that is solid hope here?
SCHINDLER: I would think so. I'm not an attorney. He's not an attorney. And what he indicated was the fact that he is not an attorney, he can't really make any type of opinions on exactly which directions he's going, but he will have his staff explore every, every possibility. And he had to attend some kind of -- you were there -- the dedication. And we were with him, I guess, for about half an hour. And so, you know, he gave his word to us that he would pursue it, and I believe, you know, what he says.
QUESTION: Any developments on whether or not...
PHILLIPS: Bob Schindler, the father of Terri Schiavo, just addressing a couple of questions there from reporters. This is obviously the moment that he and his wife have dreaded for a decade now, the court stepping in and making the decision that Terri Schiavo will no longer be kept alive in the hospital. Her husband, Michael, stepping in, saying this is not how his wife wanted to live, and he did win that court battle.
Once again, her parents coming forward and remaining strong, but not happy, about the decision.
