HAMMER: Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

ANDERSON: Hi there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson, coming you from Hollywood. And we are all over to eyebrow-raising and developing stories. First, all-out war has broken out over the wild story that Britney Spears is pregnant again. Let`s just say both sides are calling each other big, fat liars. And there is startling new information about Hulk Hogan and what might have happened, A.J., the day his son got into a terrible car accident. Those details coming up.

HAMMER: But first, tonight, Dennis Quaid`s twin nightmare. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has disturbing new details of what happened leading up to the terrible mistake that now has Quaid`s newborn twins fighting for their lives.

ANDERSON: A.J., this is truly heartbreaking because besides what happened to the twins, it turns out the story leading up to their birth is also enough to break your heart.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice over): It`s a Hollywood horror story. Actor Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly are keeping a heartbreaking vigil as their tiny newborn twins fight for their lives after a horrifying medical mishap. It`s every new parent`s worst nightmare.

KATIE DARYL, CORRESPONDENT, "TMZ.TV": A lot of people being concerned that, you know, what if this had happened to them and could it happen to them?

ANDERSON: Now SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that brand new dramatic information surfaced about how the twins are doing, as well as the sad, untold story of how Quaid and his wife have dealt with heartbreaking disappointment and anguish as they have tried to have children together.

JO PIAZZA, CORRESPONDENT, "NEW YORK DAILY NEWS": Yes, this is just such a sad story. Dennis and his wife Kimberly have been trying so hard for so long to have these babies. And now, for this to happen, it is just heartbreaking.

ANDERSON: "People" magazine is now revealing the shocking news that since Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly got married in 2004, they have suffered through five devastating miscarriages. Jo Piazza of the "New York Daily News" tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT the Quaids were forced to look at another option.

PIAZZA: After they were unable to conceive on their own, Dennis and Kimberly turned to a surrogate using their own sperm and the eggs.

ANDERSON: But then, they hit another devastating roadblock. "People" magazine reports that the surrogate also suffered a miscarriage. But the determined Quaids refused to give up. Again, they tried a surrogate and eventually, success. The surrogate became pregnant with the Quaid`s twins.

PIAZZA: Both of them just couldn`t have been happier that the babies were finally on their way after so much struggle to try to get there.

ANDERSON: On November 8th, Dennis and his wife welcomed their newborn twins, Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace. But their joy wouldn`t last long. "People" magazine is now also revealing for the first time that their twins suffered a staph infection and were rushed to L.A.`s prestigious Cedars- Sinai Hospital where the unthinkable happened.

PIAZZA: Both babies were given an overdose of heparin in the IVs.

ANDERSON: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that for babies the normal dosage of the blood thinner heparin is 10 units per milliliter. But the Quaid twins, along with another baby in the hospital, were mistakenly given 10,000 units, a thousand times the normal dosage. It`s a mishap that has killed other babies.

DARYL: What`s so upsetting about this is that in Indiana, three infants had already died from the same mistake, and a letter gone out to other hospitals saying, "Hey, be aware of this, that the labels look a lot alike. So don`t let this happen in your hospital." And yet, it did happen at Cedars-Sinai.

ANDERSON: Even though the twins are still in the hospital, Quaid`s family remains determined, praying for the best and staying optimistic.

PIAZZA: The twins` grandmother actually talked to "The Daily News" and confirmed that they`re doing much better and they`re doing well now. They`re still not out of the woods yet.

ANDERSON: But Dennis Quaid is still a celebrity. And as he and his wife deal with this unthinkable situation, they`ve also had to deal with a media mob scene at the hospital where their babies are recovering.

DARYL: You know, when the Quaids were going to visit their children, one moment in particular stood out when there were several paparazzi, up to ten of them, surrounding the Quaid family. And they couldn`t get to the hospital and they eventually had to get a police escort.

ANDERSON: So the Quaid twins are still fighting for their lives, as their nervous parents have but one wish for the holidays.

PIAZZA: The entire family is just hoping to bring the babies home soon.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON (on camera): "People" magazine says the Quaids haven`t spoken publicly of their ordeal. And as of now, there`s been no public talk of a lawsuit.

HAMMER: Such a tragic story. Well, tonight, it is all-out war over the wild, almost unbelievable story that Britney Spears is pregnant again. Now, firstly, we have Britney denying that she is pregnant and threatening to sue "In Touch Weekly" which reported the story. And now this, today, "In Touch Weekly" fires back with what it claims is proof that they didn`t make up the story.

Joining me from Hollywood, investigative journalist Pat Lalama. Also in Hollywood, Carlos Diaz a correspondent for "Extra." Carlos, Pat, I appreciate you both being here.

PAT LALAMA, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: Thanks.

HAMMER: I want to start off by doing a little recap, because, of course, this all began when "In Touch Weekly`s" report claimed that Britney is pregnant by her reported on-and-off-again boyfriend J.R. Rotem. But then, Britney`s friend, a guy named Sam Lufti, sent Ryan Seacrest a text message during his radio show.

This is what the text said, quote, "It`s BS. Don`t know who made it up. J.R. doesn`t even know what`s up. It`s fake. Completely fake. We just wrapped her video. Going hope to sleep."

Pat Lalama, we really didn`t think for a moment that that text message was going to be the end of this Britney pregnancy story, did we?

LALAMA: Are you not scared? Welcome to alleged pregnancy in the celebrity world in the technological age. I, for one, am scared. What happened to birth announcements?

You know what? First of all, I don`t believe any one of these people. I don`t know who - somebody`s telling the truth in there somewhere. But I think it`s really a shame that this is how we have to try to learn about these things with celebrities.

And let me state for the record my good friend Carlos might want to argue with me about this. But if she has another child, the world is coming to an end. The forced sterilization for her, I say.

HAMMER: Well Pat, to clearly answer your question and Carlos, sound off for yourself, I, for one, am scared. But today, here`s where the story takes another turn. "In Touch Weekly" firing back by showing the text messages it claims it got from Britney`s guy, J.R. Rotem, claiming that Britney is indeed pregnant with his baby.

So let`s take a look at what "In Touch" says Rotem wrote them, quote - "In Touch" asks, "They are saying Britney`s pregnant and you`re the father." J.R. responds, "It`s true." "In Touch" follows up with, "OK. Awesome. Do you think Britney will keep it? She`s already talking about it to people." And J.R. says, "No clue on what she will do. She is unpredictable." Well, at least they got that right. Carlos, what is going on here?

CARLOS DIAZ, CORRESPONDENT, "EXTRA": Sorry. I`m texting right now. I can`t talk to you. If you - that`s crazy! That`s crazy! OK? I mean, where in the world are we going with the journalistic integrity when we`re actually quoting - will you stop me, Pat - we`re quoting text messages. These are text messages.

If someone sends me a text message that says, "Hey, Carlos, are you drunk right now?" Yes, it is true. You know what I mean? That`s the thing. You know, I mean, people are going to send you a message saying, "Is Britney pregnant?" And then the guy says it`s true, and that`s the cover story? I mean, this is - it`s unbelievable.

And to answer the question before it`s asked, will Britney sue because of this? No. Because that`s how she makes her living through these tabloids making things up.

LALAMA: She`s threatening, Carlos. She says she is threatening, that she is livid, you know. But the fact if the matter is, Carlos, that here we are discussing it. It`s on the cover of magazines. It`s the water cooler discussion. It`s more important than the presidential debates, so who are the fools? We are the fools, Carlos.

HAMMER: All right. I want to read or make mention of the fact that "In Touch Weekly" sent out its press release today asking J.R. Rotem to come forward - not by text, I don`t think - and to say he actually was the one who sent out these text messages. And Carlos, so far, you know - what have we got? The sound of nothing but crickets.

DIAZ: He hasn`t come forward and I really can`t believe it.

HAMMER: What are the chances that that`s going to happen?

DIAZ: It`s not going to happen. He`s not going to come forward. I mean, we are not - I`ve talked to J.R. Rotem before. I`ve talked to Sam Lufti. I`ve talked to all these guys, all the players in this, if you will. You know, they`re all kind of hangers on. You know, they`re not celebrities in their own right. So the only way that J.R. can become a celebrity is if he says, "Yes, it`s true. I`m the father of Britney`s baby." Then he gets an extra 14 seconds of his 15-minutes of fame.

LALAMA: A.J., that goes right back to what Carlos was saying. How do we trust this as gospel? These are wannabes text messaging. And suddenly, we`re making this a great, big story with some modicum of credibility to it?

HAMMER: Yes, but man, are we having a time with it.

LALAMA: Man, it`s the best!

HAMMER: Now, let me get to something actually - that I don`t understand. And, Pat, you might be able to clear this up. You know, you mentioned the reports that Britney is planning on suing "In Touch Weekly" over the pregnancy story. What would she sue about? It`s not like this is a libelous thing or a defamatory thing. It`s not correct, that`s all.

HAMMER: To try to sue for malice or libel or slander, you have to prove malice. You have to show that somebody was out to get her and was trying to ruin her. They`re just talking about having a baby here and some people would argue that`s a beautiful thing. So she`s crazy if she is going to sue over that. That`s nuts.

DIAZ: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) a grading system for these magazines like we have for TV shows. We can grade them in the corner like reliable, not so reliable, full of crap. You know?

(CROSS TALK)

HAMMER: All right. All right. Hang on a second. Hang on. I`m texting you thank you very much, Pat Lalama, Carlos Diaz for joining us tonight. Did you get that?

DIAZ: Yes. Thank you.

LALAMA: You are a great guy. Thank you.

HAMMER: Well now we like to hear from you. And you can text us. You can e-mail us, however you want to do it. It`s our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day, "Britney denies pregnancy rumor: Has she become an unfair target?" Sound off at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. Our e-mail address, should you choose to approach it that way, showbiztonight@cnn.com. Yes, use your Blackberry or whatever texting device you have, a cellphone. And whatever you want to tell us, please do.

ANDERSON: Startling new information about Hulk Hogan and what may have happened the day his son nearly killed someone in a car crash. The Hulk could be in hot water. Should he be worried? That`s next on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Also this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CONNER: I`m willing to do whatever it takes, not only given a chance to have time to better myself, but to better me as a Miss U.S.A.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, and then she went right off to rehab. Just one star of our showbiz special report, "The Best Beauty Pageant Scandals Ever." The pepper spray, the nude photos, and yes, we`re going to get to hear that wonderfully horrible answer from Miss Teen North Carolina again. I could hear it all night. That is coming up.

But first, let me toss it back to former Miss Atlanta, Brooke Anderson whose pageant was totally scandal free.

ANDERSON: You know, no pepper spray for us. Thank you very much, A.J. We`ve also got pregnant over 40. These stars make it look easy, but I wanted to know isn`t it risky to wait until after 40 to have kids? And why are so many stars wait until their 40s to start a family? I`ve got the answers coming up as SHOWBIZ TONIGHT investigates "Pregnant After 40."

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: And welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m Brooke Anderson. Tonight, shocking new details about Hulk Hogan and what might have happened the day that his son, Nick, got into a terrible car crash. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has obtained a new police report about what happened that day. Could The Hulk be in hot water?

With me tonight in New York, Ashleigh Banfield, host of Court TV`s "Hollywood Heat." Also in New York, Jane Velez-Mitchell, investigative journalist and author of this book, "Secrets Can Be Murder." Ashleigh, Jane, welcome to you both.

Now, we know that Clearwater police in Florida released a whopping 130-some page report on Nick Bollea`s, Hulk Hogan`s son devastating car accident that left his friend paralyzed in a vegetative state. And as we know, Nick was later arrested.

It turns out, earlier in that day, Hulk had gone boating with his son and some friends, and before they went, Hulk bought some beer. Take a look at what the police found out. A receipt obtained by police shows five cases of beer, about $78 worth, were purchased prior to the crash. Also a clerk at the store tells police Hulk was the one who paid for the beer.

And police also found alcohol in Nick`s system after the car cash although it was below the legal limit. But the Hulk`s son is just 17 years old. Jane, how damaging is all of this?

JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: Well, Brooke, I think it`s important to point out while the son faced charges in connection with this very tragic accident, Hulk Hogan has not been not charged with anything at this point. But it certainly doesn`t make him look good as a parent. He shouldn`t be encouraging his son or looking the other way when his son drinks.

And if you take a look at this combo, a young boy, underaged, who has been encouraged to race as we saw on the reality show, and then, ply him with alcohol, and then let him get behind the wheel of a super charged sports car and take off, that is a prescription for disaster. We don`t know if it`s a crime on the part of Hulk Hogan. These are just accusations at this point, but it`s certainly is very, very poor judgment.

ANDERSON: Ashleigh, what do you think? Could it ruin them? How damaging is this?

ASHLEIGH BANFIELD, HOST, COURT TV`S "HOLLYWOOD HEAT": Well, a lot of things could happen here. Number one, we could see charges coming down the pike if it is determined that Hulk Hogan bought alcohol for his 17-year-old son. It is illegal. You just can`t do it.

Does it rise to the level of causing the accident several hours? And I think that my calculation is about four and a half hours later. I don`t think so, because right now, that son has not been charged with anything other than felony reckless driving. No alcohol. No issues with that driving.

So, to extrapolate that the family of the victim in that crash could go after Hulk Hogan for all his money because he bought beer in the afternoon that apparently isn`t really connected to the incident itself, it`s a bit of a stretch. Not saying that it`s not there, but it`s a bit of a stretch.

ANDERSON: Well, the police report has a lot of witnesses who saw Nick and his friends that day on the boat with some of them drinking beer. Jane has actually said, you know, whether any of this contributed to the crash is unclear, but certainly it doesn`t make the Hulk look good.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: No. There should be a clear delineation, Brooke, between being a buddy and being a parent, and I think there was a little confusion there. You do not look the other way when your underaged son is drinking. But I have to tell you, it is America`s little dirty secret that a lot of parents do precisely that.

And the reason that they do it, and I`m not saying this is true in Hulk Hogan`s case, but the reason a lot of parents do look the other way is that they drink. And if they tell their teenage kids, "Don`t drink," that`s smart aleck is going to turn around and say, "Well, what about you, Dad? You drink." And they don`t want to have to look at themselves. So it`s easier for them to let their teenage children drink and look the other way. It is a big problem and America needs to look at it.

ANDERSON: Yes. It don`t seem like responsible behavior. As you said, we`re not sure if this is what happened, though, in Hulk`s case at this time. But all of this comes after Hulk`s wife just filed for divorce. Ashleigh, I know this kind of is asking you to speculate, but what do you think? Is it possible that his wife, Linda, knew this was coming and it could have been the final straw, the pressure from this situation?

BANFIELD: Well, it could be that, Brooke, or it could be something more strategic if you think about it. Let`s say they divorce. Let`s say she wipes him out and gets all the assets. Let`s say, then, there`s a civil judgment and I`m not saying there will be because I really don`t see this. But there`s a civil judgment against Hulk Hogan. All of a sudden, he`s not in possession of all the assets anymore. She is.

It could be strategic. I don`t know. That`s something that a lot people are speculating about. But look, I don`t want to get inside anyone else`s business. I don`t know what goes on inside that house, despite the fact they`ve been all over reality TV.

ANDERSON: Right. And we may never know what the exact reason would be for the filing for divorce. And you know, even though Nick was below the legal limit, if alcohol is determined to be connected with the crash, Jane, very quickly, could the Hulk be in trouble?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: I think he could be, but it`s too early to tell. The devil`s in the details. We have to see if anybody actually saw him physically handing a bottle of alcohol to his son. It is a tragedy all the way around.

ANDERSON: It`s certainly is horrific situation. One man`s life will never, ever be the same, that man in a vegetative state right now. Jane Velez-Mitchell, Ashleigh Banfield, thank you both.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Thanks, Brooke.

BANFIELD: Thank you, Brooke.

ANDERSON: All right, moving now to the tragic death of Redskins` player Sean Taylor. It has a Hollywood connection you may not know about. Next, we`re going to tell you which actor paying tribute to Taylor, saying he was a member of his extended family. Also this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

VANESSA WILLIAMS, FORMER MISS AMERICA: That I must relinquish my title as Miss America.

HAMMER: Wow. Remember that? Miss America, Vanessa Williams relinquishing her crown after a nude photo scandal. But you know, that`s just the beginning. It`s true. I mean, think about it. Pageants can get down right ugly. You`ve got the botched answers. You`ve got substance abuse scandals. And now, you`ve got pepper spray madness. We have got the best beauty pageants scandals ever. It would be sinful to miss it. That`s coming up on the showbiz special report.

ANDERSON: And Pregnant over 40. You know, these stars make it look easy. But I wanted to know, isn`t it risky to wait until after 40 to have kids? And why are so many stars waiting until their 40s to start a family? The answer is coming up as SHOWBIZ TONIGHT investigates "Pregnant After 40."

HAMMER: And now you can watch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT any time by downloading our podcast which is absolutely free. You can find our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT podcast on the web site, CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. You can also find it on iTunes. Type "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" into the search box. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is coming right back.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Friday, a controversial new TV show, VH1`s "Celebrity Rehab." It is a revealing look at just what celebrities go through - the pain, the struggles. But is it actually a good idea to follow stars through rehab? A provocative look at celebrity rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky, Friday.

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. The tragic death of Redskins football player Sean Taylor has a Hollywood connection. Andy Garcia`s niece is Taylor`s girlfriend, and the actor is paying tribute to Taylor.

Taylor died Tuesday after being shot in his home during an apparent break-in. Garcia`s niece was also in the house at the time. She and their 18-month-old daughter hid in the bedroom while Taylor went to investigate a noise in the house. In a statement to "The Miami Herald," Andy Garcia says Taylor`s heroic action that night saved their lives and is a testament to his courage.

Garcia also says, quote, "Sean was known to may as an extraordinary athlete and unquestionable teammate. To those of us who had the good fortune to count him as a member of our extended family, we will always remember him as a caring and loving individual."

HAMMER: Well, I don`t know about you, but when I think of beauty pageants, what comes to mind for me are things like evening gowns, the little wave that they do. I don`t think that`s it exactly, answers about world peace, and then there`s this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TARA CONNER, MISS AMERICA 2006: I`m willing to do whatever it takes not only given a chance to have time to better myself but to better me as a Miss U.S.A.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Who knew beauty pageants could get so ugly? Substance abuse scandals, nude photos, incoherent answers and of course, now, pepper spray. You definitely do not want to miss the special report as we bring you "The Best Beauty Pageant Scandals Ever."

ANDERSON: That wave wasn`t even close, A.J. And we`ve also got "Pregnant Over 40." These stars make it look easy, but I wanted to know isn`t it risky to wait until after 40 to have kids? And why are so many stars waiting until their 40s to start a family? I`ve got the answers coming up as showbiz investigates, "Pregnant After 40."

HAMMER: And I`ve got to tell you, we have news about Brad Pitt that may come as a big disappointment to a lot of his female fans.

MALE CREW: What?

HAMMER: Maybe some of his male fans too. I will tell you why we may be seeing a whole lot less of Brad Pitt, coming up on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(NEW BREAK)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: On SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, when beauty pageants get really ugly.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

WILLIAMS: That I must relinquish my title as Miss America.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I totally remember that one - Vanessa Williams and her shocking nude photos. And then of course, there was Tara Conner`s substance abuse. And well, I still have no clue what Miss South Carolina was talking about. Tonight, the best of the worst shocking beauty pageant scandals. It is a showbiz special report.

Stars pregnant at over 40. Hey, I`ve got to tell you, I`m thrilled for Salma Hayek and Halle Berry and Geena Davis. They`re all over the big 4-0 and they wanted kids. But what about the risks and what about the message that they`re sending to the not-so-famous older women? Tonight, showbiz investigates "Pregnant After 40."

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It`s 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson, coming to you tonight from Hollywood. This is TV`s most provocative entertainment news show.

HAMMER: Well, tonight, it is a showbiz special report "The Best Beauty Pageant Scandals Ever."

MALE CREW: Yes!

HAMMER: We`re talking about the embarrassing, the emotional, the completely nonsensical. Man, we love these moments, so get right to it.

Joining me from Hollywood, investigative journalist Pat Lalama. Also in Hollywood tonight, editorial director for "UsMagazine.com," Ken Baker. And would you believe this? Ken Baker, a former beauty pageant judge. Also in Hollywood, "Extra" correspondent Carlos Diaz. Thanks for sticking around for this, Carlos. Yes, you didn`t know that, Pat, did you?

LALAMA: No. I can`t sit next to him.

HAMMER: You look a little turned on. All right, we`re going to kick this off with the latest and greatest scandal. This is the one that`s on everybody`s mind right now, the Miss Puerto Rico pepper predicament. She claims that she was sabotaged during the pageant. Her clothes and makeup were drenched in pepper spray, according to her and some people say she made it all up. But she told me she`s got the proof. Watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

INGRID MARIE RIVERA, MISS PUERTO RICO-UNIVERSE 2007: There`s proof, you know. My face changed. There`s videotape. There are pictures. People noticed. I couldn`t use my jewelry. The supervisor noticed. The staff noticed. Security noticed. So it`s not something I just made up.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: All right. Pat Lalama, first I want to hear you say "The Miss Puerto Rico Pepper Predicament." I made that up.

LALAMA: Ah, forget about it.

HAMMER: All right.

LALAMA: I`m not going there.

HAMMER: Well, do you believe her?

LALAMA: Well, let`s put it this way. Next time she`s in the shower, maybe she gets tasered. I don`t know. Maybe it was an allergic reaction from her cheap makeup. I say that the truth is somewhere, you know. Just take a little scant of truth in it. I`m not saying it`s an out and out lie. But I`m questioning what - they said, "We don`t have the police involved. We are investigating ourselves." Now, what the heck does that mean? So, I`m just a little bit dubious.

HAMMER: Ken Baker, former judge, dubious? I think that actually Miss Puerto Rico should get the same lawyer who`s representing Mr. Peterson out in Illinois right now and just say, hey, until the forensics come in, that no one should pass judgment.

HAMMER: All right, Ken. We`ll just let that lie where it is. I have to say, when I sat with her and she was very candid and open, I got the impression, you know, I don`t think she went through the trouble of making that up. But that`s just me.

I want to move on now to out next pick for the best beauty pageant scandal ever.

MALE CREW: Yes!

HAMMER: Let us get to the beloved Tara Conner. Now, she almost lost the title of Miss U.S.A., remember, over those allegations of the drug use and the excessive partying. Pageant owner Donald Trump decided, as we all know controversially, to let her keep the crown. The best part about it was Conner`s tearful apology.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CONNER: I`m willing to do whatever it takes, not only given a chance to have time to better myself, but to better me as a Miss U.S.A. And I plan on walking out of this the best Miss U.S.A. that you have ever seen.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Carlos, let me go to you. Kind of begs the question - did she turn out to be, as she put it, "the best Miss U.S.A. that you have ever seen?"

DIAZ: Oh, of course. I mean, since she`s, you know, been Miss U.S.A., she`s - what has she done? No. I don`t know. What does Miss U.S.A. do? I mean, it was the best thing that Donald Trump could have ever imagined her getting all drugged up one night and having fun and drinking and the whole thing. That`s the most pub that Miss U.S.A. could ever imagine.

And then Miss Nevada went out and did the same thing. So it was like, kind of a double shot for Donald Trump. But, you know, the thing is, that`s the only thing that we talk about when we`re talking about pageants these days, because they`re kind of a thing in the past.

LALAMA: Amen.

DIAZ: Really. I mean, Pat, back me up on this. Are we still in 1950s here with these pageants?

LALAMA: I don`t have to back you up on this. I am so right next to you on this. The whole thing is antiquated. These pageants, you know - what, it`s the best of the best? We`ve drug addicts, alcoholics, strippers - we`ve got it all now. You know, hey, it`s the next reality show. What can I say?

DIAZ: I mean, seriously.

LALAMA: A.J., could I just have - maybe Carlos will let me have a second chance, too. What do you think?

HAMMER: I don`t know if he will.

DIAZ: I mean, seriously, are we living in the Iraq or what? Come on, people.

HAMMER: Speaking of that, can I just move - thank you for the segue, Carlos.

DIAZ: No problem.

HAMMER: Because this is our next pick for the "The Best Beauty Pageant Scandal Ever"

MALE CREW: Yes!

HAMMER: A little slow, guys. This is one is really my favorite. Miss South Carolina, Lauren Caitlin Upton - she gave us that completely nonsensical answer to some kind of an question about geography answering with maps and such as. Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UPTON: I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some, uh, people out there in our nation don`t have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as, uh, South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, uh, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa - and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I`m telling you, put me in front of a TV, put that on a loop, play it over and over, I will die a happy man. Ken Baker, drawing again on your pageant experience, if you were a judge in a pageant, hearing an answer like that, do you have to keep a straight face or can you just let it all go and laugh.

BAKER: Let me clarify pageant experience, as a judge, not as a contestant, obviously. But I just wanted to say that, you know what, she is a very young girl. She handled it with grace and poise afterwards. She definitely messed up.

But as a judge, when you are in these things, what realize is these girls have worked their entire lives for this moment. And so for them, it is the Super Bowl. And I`m not going to sit there and laugh at them. I mean, it is a very serious thing.

DIAZ: It is one thing if she messed up one fact, all right, if there is one fact, one figure she messed up. She messed up everything. That wasn`t even English that she was speaking just now.

ANDERSON: Hey, wait. You guys, I saw a former - she was a beauty queen on a TV show the other day, saying, "The reason why we have swimsuit competitions is to show that we have physical stamina that we can stand up on our feet for long hours and like do a lot of really strong things." OK? This whole thing is ridiculous. Talk about keeping women a second class citizen. Get over it.

DIAZ: All right, Pat -

HAMMER: But hold on a second. Let me just bring it back down to earth with somebody who clearly not only has poise and beauty, but she`s got brains. Our next beauty pageant from "The Best Beauty Pageant Scandal Ever" -

MALE CREW: Yes!

HAMMER: Vanessa Williams, all the way back to 1984 here when those nude photos in "Penthouse" cost her the Miss America crown, a huge scandal. Let`s watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

WILLIAMS: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) to the pageant and the deep division that a bitter fight may cause, has convinced I must relinquish my title as Miss America.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. I mean, what a scandal that was. But she went on to become a celebrated singer and actress, and the irony, the former beauty queen is now starring in "Ugly Betty." Ken Baker, she should be crowned the queen of reinvention, shouldn`t she?

BAKER: Well, I just want to call you on the introduction you did to this a few minutes ago where you said, "I totally remember the Vanessa Williams scandal." How old were you, A.J.? That was like 25 years ago. I want to know exactly what you were reading back then.

HAMMER: All right. Let`s not get into that right now. But let me assure you I remember.

BAKER: OK. Well, that being said, this is a great example of how scandal can make a career. Look at Paris Hilton. It happened back in the `80s with Vanessa Williams. It`s happening now with Paris Hilton.

LALAMA: Oh,Ken. But Ken, Paris isn`t going to last. Vanessa`s got some substance under her. That`s why she`s going to last. Paris is going to last?

HAMMER: We`re out of time. Before we get into a little a little scandal of our own, Ken, Pat, get together backstage and discuss. Ken Baker and Pat Lalama and Carlos Diaz, thank you.

DIAZ: Such as.

ANDERSON: Oh, somebody got Pat riled up tonight. All right. I want to get away from the scandals and I want to talk about something I really like talking about. Stars who are so excited about becoming parents.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HALLE BERRY, ACTRESS: Being a mother was the thought that I had foremost on my mind most of the time.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Halle Berry, thrilled, Geena Davis, Marcia Cross(ph). I`m so happy for these over 40 stars. But I still got to ask, what kind of message does it send women outside of Hollywood? And what about the risks? Tonight, I`m investigating stars pregnant over 40.

Another one of my favorite things or favorite people to talk about - Brad Pitt. He`s a great actor, definitely easy on the eyes. Tonight, though, you won`t see Brad in the buff anymore. No more nude scenes for him. The shocking reason he is not stripping down in front of the camera, next.

HAMMER: All right, Brooke. Adrianne(ph) Curry tells me that she loves to run around naked. Yes she does. She tells me that and it`s true. Even more shocking than that, she is absolutely convinced that the "Dancing with the Stars" winner, Helio, was hooking up with his partner. That`s what she thinks. You don`t want to miss how she came to this conclusion. That`s coming up.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Hey, welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson. Time now for a story that made us say "That`s ridiculous." OK. I`m a little disappointed by what Brad Pitt is now saying. He tells the BBC he`s not going to do any more nude scenes. That`s right. No more Brad in the buff.

CREW: Boo!

ANDERSON: Brad doesn`t want his kids to see the films, of course, when they`re old enough. Brad, it`s not like you were ever completely nude. Just showing skin like in "Thelma and Louise" - who could forget that? Also, in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" with his now-girlfriend, Angelina Jolie. I mean, could you blame her for wanting him after that movie? Even "Troy."

Hmm. Oh, sorry. I got a little distracted there for a second. Anyway, hey Brad, I`m going to - we`re going to miss you taking your clothes off so we got to say, that`s ridiculous.

All right. Tonight, "Pregnancy After 40." Salma Hayek turned 41 just weeks after delivering her first child, a daughter named Valentina. But she`s just one of many Hollywood stars who are becoming new moms after 40. From Salma to Halle Berry to Geena Davis, stars are expanding their families later in life, and still rocking that red carpet.

But what about the risks? And do their stories send a message that it`s easy to conceive later in life? Tonight SHOWBIZ TONIGHT investigates "Pregnancy After 40" in Hollywood.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice over): Geena Davis, 48 years old. Marcia Cross, 44. Holly Hunter, 47. Just some of the faces of motherhood in Hollywood, and SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you they`re also proud members of an elite club. They all got pregnant after turning 40. And they`re not alone. Add to the list, Salma Hayek, 40. Julianne Moore, 41. Halle Berry, also 41.

BERRY: I was meant to be a mother.

ANDERSON: Berry tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, having a baby was all she could think about.

BERRY: Being a mother was the thought that I had foremost on my mind most of the time. How would I make motherhood manifest? I had someone wonderful in my life and we`re talking about it all the time and just waiting and hoping it would happen.

MARCIA CROSS, "DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES" STAR: This is a little sudden, isn`t it?

ANDERSON: It also happened for "Desperate Housewives" star Marcia Cross. She had twins at 44.

ELLEN DEGENERES, HOST, "THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW": So you are having twins?

CROSS: I`m having twins.

DEGENERES: Wow.

(CHEERS)

ANDERSON: It was girls for Cross, and boys for "Saving Grace" star Holly Hunter. Hunter`s twins arrived when she was 47.

HOLLY HUNTER, "SAVING GRACE" STAR: Nothing you say can surprise me.

ANDERSON: She is not surprised and neither is OB-GYN Dr. Lisa Masterson.

DR. LISA MASTERSON, OBSTETRICIAN-GYNECOLOGIST: Celebrities are actually reflecting the new face of the moms today. Women are, you know, not putting their lives on hold to have kids. They`re living their lives. They`re pursuing their careers. And then they`re deciding to have kids later on.

ANDERSON: But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has to ask, isn`t that risky?

MASTERSON: Women do have to realize that, yes, even with fertility treatments, you still may not get pregnant. So there are definitely, you know, risks to waiting later on in life to having kids. So, it`s not all a fairy tale. There are, you know, there`s obviously an increased risk of miscarriages. So having a baby is a very difficult thing. It can get more difficult as you get older. It doesn`t mean it can`t happen, but it`s definitely not just a fairy tale.

ANDERSON: Not a fairy tale at all because it has come true for so many of Hollywood`s leading ladies and featured regularly in magazines like "More." Barbara O`Dair is "More`s" executive director.

BARBARA O`DAIR, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, "MORE" MAGAZINE: Many of the stars we`ve put on our covers have had babies in their 40s - Holly Hunter, Angela Basset - the list goes on and on. And you can have Diane Keaton who adopted children in her 50s. These are a special breed who are especially tireless.

I think stars are choosing to have babies after 40 because their jobs are so demanding in their 20s and 30s. They have to look perfect all the time. They`ve got to be ready to jump on a plane and shoot somewhere all the time. And babies have just not in the picture for them. Then, of course, they hit 40 and they think, "Oops, I forgot something."

Former "Commander In Chief" star Genna Davis says she didn`t forget; she was just waiting until the time was right. And the right time came well into her 40s. She has three kids including twins who were born when Davis was 48.

GEENA DAVIS, FORMER, "COMMANDER IN CHIEF" STAR: It`s completely unfair if anyone want to use me as an example because, you know, we`re all ridiculously overpaid anyway in this business. So, I can afford plenty of child care and actors are just indulged. My kids came ever day to the set and destroyed the oval and what are they going to say? It`s Geena`s kids.

O`DAIR: I think stars do have the money and the means to have babies after 40. If they`re not up to raising a child 24/7, they have people they can hire who could do that for them or at least help them.

ANDERSON: Celebrity moms like Geena, Holly and Halle may have the perks but all the money in the world doesn`t guarantee an easy road. Halle Berry, for one, didn`t sugar coat her tough road to pregnancy and experts say that`s a good message.

MASTERSON: I think Halle Berry`s story is fabulous talking about the diabetes and, you know, how her medical complications and about difficulty getting pregnant. And this tells women that, you know, you really have to take pregnancy seriously. You really have to take care of your body. You really have to follow up with your doctor`s appointments and it is work. But it`s also something to be cherished.

ANDERSON: These over 40 stars are not only cherishing motherhood in some ways. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you they`re actually better prepared for it than their 20-something counterparts.

MASTERSON: These women also know their bodies a lot better than younger women. And they feel more comfortable with their bodies. So, I think the emotional stability really, really helps in having a great pregnancy. They should be applauded. They are inspirations that you can pursue your career, you can know who you are as a woman and then you can have your family. And you are going to probably be a much better parent.

ANDERSON: After all, having the baby is just the start. The real challenge, raising kids in Hollywood. Especially when you`re over 40.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

(on camera): Only time will tell for Halle Berry. She says she is more than ready for the challenge. Her baby due in March.

HAMMER: Well, there are some people out there that think "Dancing with the Stars" winner, Helio Castroneves, and his partner, Julianne, got a little too close, that their relationship wasn`t just totally professional. Now, I`m not going to travel down that road. But I can tell you another big reality star, Adrianne(ph) Curry is totally convinced some bedroom tango was going on. You`ll hear what she says next.

ANDERSON: But first, a look at what`s new at the movies this week, brought to you by Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Well, only one new flick in theaters this week, a week after the big Thanksgiving holiday. It`s called "Awake," starring the lovely Jessica Alba and Hayden Christensen. Hayden undergoes surgery but becomes conscious while on the operating table. That sounds like a complete nightmare to me.

All right. Disney`s "Enchanted" is the number one film out there right now. It pulled in nearly $50 million, making it the second biggest Thanksgiving opening ever. And you should definitely check out "No Country for Old Men." It`s being released on more screens this weekend. Tons of Oscar buzz on that one. Stay with us. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is back after this.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Well, tonight, one big reality star who found love on her reality show says that she is convinced that another reality star was doing some secret loving on his reality show.

Here`s exactly what I`m talking about. Helio Castroneves won "Dancing with the Stars," but he lost his fiancee. Remember, we told you that just as the race car driver racing off with the trophy, Helio`s long-time girlfriend broke off their engagement.

So I just had to ask, Adrianne(ph) Curry and real-life hubby, Christopher "Peter Brady" Knight, who are reality show veterans, of course. They met on VH1`s "Surreal Life" and then they did "My Fair Brady." Is there a reality show curse? And I had to ask about those rumors that Helio is hooking up with his dance partner, Julianne.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ADRIANNE(ph) CURRY, ACTRESS: He`s totally sleeping with his partner. You saw it. I saw it.

CHRISTOPHER KNIGHT, ACTOR: You don`t know that. That`s just your opinion.

HAMMER: But do you guys about that at all seeing what happened to other couples?

KNIGHT: Absolutely. I think there was a period of time when my worry was after we got together and we were doing the show. In that, our relationship started in front of the camera. Concerned with what would happen when the cameras are not there in our relationship. I`m no longer -

CURRY: Happiness.

KNIGHT: I`m no longer concerned about that.

CURRY: Relaxation.

KNIGHT: And balance. We probably lived more time outside of the cameras - (UNINTELLIGIBLE)

(CROSS TALK)

CURRY: The biggest problem with, you know, the reality shows is they come into your home. That`s the problem.

KNIGHT: Yes.

CURRY: That`s your sanctuary.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, whatever these two are doing, it seems to be working. By the way, their new special "Chris and Adrianne(ph) Do Russia" premiers on We TV this Sunday.

ANDERSON: On Wednesday, we asked you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day about Helio. He won "Dancing With the Stars." Did America get it right? Sixty percent of you say yes. Forty percent of you say no.

The e-mails - a Texas show down. Cathy thinks America did get it right, "He has never had any acting/performing/dancing experience, Mel B. already did. Hello, she`s a performing-singer." Mel B., of course, is a Spice Girl.

But Pat, also from Texas, "Mel B. was robbed. Helio`s smile was better than his footwork and I think people fell for it."

HAMMER: Here`s what`s coming up on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, Friday, a controversial new TV show, VH1`s "Celebrity Rehab," a revealing look at just what celebrities go through. But is it a good idea to actually follow stars through rehab? A provocative look at celebrity rehab on Friday.

Also Friday, don`t count Tom Cruise out just yet. Yes, "Lions for Lambs," it`s a bust. And yes, his private life, Katie Holmes, his wacky behavior, all that. A lot of people still think Tom is terrific. Should we really be counting Tom out? That`s Friday.

HAMMER: That is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Brooke, do the wave for me, would you? How do year-old say goodbye?

ANDERSON: Oh, stop it. Bye-bye. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. The latest from "CNN HEADLINE NEWS" is next.
