(MUSIC)

Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

ANDERSON: Hi, there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson coming to you from Hollywood where marriage and divorce is almost like a national pastime. Tonight, should stars like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt even bother getting married? Is it better for big stars to stay unmarried? We`re asking those questions, coming up.

HAMMER: But first, tonight, the Madonna and Mariah-Elvis smack-down, I would have to imagine that tonight, Elvis fans around the world are absolutely furious and all shook up. How dare anyone suggest that Madonna and Mariah Carey are bigger than Elvis Presley? Are you kidding me?

Hey, don`t shoot the messenger, because today, we`ve got some earth- shattering news that Madonna and Mariah are the queens who have deposed the king.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice over): Every poker player knows you can beat a king with a pair of queens. This week, the king, Elvis Presley, is being replaced in the record books not once, but twice by none other than Madonna and Mariah Carey.

LIZZY GOODMAN, EDITOR-AT-LARGE, "BLENDER" MAGAZINE: For Elvis, wherever he is, he must be really bummed out.

HAMMER: For Elvis fans, it`s like a cruel April Fools` joke.

LOLA OGUNNAIKE, CNN ENTERTAINMENT CORRESPONDENT: I`m sure all his fans are ripping out their hair right now and putting their pompadours.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Mariah Carey`s steamy new song "Touch My Body" which she recently performed on "Saturday Night Live," has hit number one on "Billboard`s" Hot 100 singles charts. It`s Mariah`s 18th number one - yes, 18th - number one. Bad news for Elvis.

OGUNNAIKE: Mariah Carey becomes the artist with the second most number one singles ever, second only to the Beatles. And now, she surpasses Elvis Presley.

HAMMER: And Mariah just needs three more number ones to take down the Beatles for the all-time crown. As if Elvis didn`t have it bad enough, the song Madonna did with Justin Timberlake, "Four Minutes" has Madonna taking another crown away from Elvis.

GOODMAN: She`s eclipsed him in the number of top ten hits. She has 37 now, and they were both tied at 36 before. So now, she`s the number one leader in that category.

HAMMER: Sorry, Elvis. This just isn`t your week. And now that Mariah, along with Madonna ,has taken down the king himself, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is asking, are the two M`s up there with Elvis or the Fab Four as the greatest of all time?

GOODMAN: As a staunch Beatles and Elvis fan, I`m not too worried about her sort of eclipsing their relevance in the rock countdown.

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT suggests maybe Elvis can still compete with the two M`s in other areas like who had the better movies?

OGUNNAIKE: Elvis still beats Madonna and Mariah on the movie front because he never made a bomb like "Glitter," and he never bomb like "Swept Away."

HAMMER: Or whose songs are better to sing at karaoke?

GOODMAN: I would say Madonna is the best to sing at karaokes.

OGUNNAIKE: If it`s the end of the night and you`re already slurring, then you`ve got to go with Elvis. "Don`t be cruel, to a heart that`s true."

HAMMER: And Mariah is exempt from this category?

OGUNNAIKE: If you can`t hit those high notes, don`t even go there.

HAMMER: Or who looks best in skimpy outfits?

OGUNNAIKE: Seeing Elvis in a one piece? No, no, no, no. Spandex was not his friend.

HAMMER: But at the end of the day, it`s a fact known by all who make records of the music kind that records of the accomplishment kind are meant to be broken.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: And what Mariah and Madonna have done is not just break records but also break the hearts of a lot of Elvis fans.

Joining us tonight from Hollywood, "E! News" correspondent, Jason Kennedy, and in New York tonight, Janelle Snowden, red carpet correspondent for "VH1 News." Jason, Janelle, hi guys.

And first, I`ve got to say, is it absolutely ridiculous to say that Mariah and Madonna are bigger than Elvis? Or, Janelle, is it time for us to say, Elvis, "You had your day, but times - they are changing"?

JANELLE SNOWDEN, RED CARPET CORRESPONDENT, "VH1 NEWS": You`re not going to have the Elvis writing me. But at the same time, I mean, I think we have to pay respect where respect is due. You know, like times definitely are changing. So what is it to say like no one will ever beat out Elvis? I mean, come on. He is a legend, will always be. But it`s time to make room for some new legends. And I think these ladies have earned their spots, maybe not atop him, but at least beside him.

ANDERSON: Oh, good point. He will forever be the king, I agree with you. And I would have to imagine to even suggest that Mariah and Madonna are greater than Elvis is raising the blood pressure of Elvis fans everywhere. Jason, are we going to see massive protests in the streets? Should the riot police be put on alert here?

JASON KENNEDY, "E! NEWS" CORRESPONDENT: I would pay anything to see a live shot from Graceland right now because there probably is a lot of rioting, if you`re listening to this broadcast right now.

But honestly, like you said, you know, you have to give credit to Madonna and Mariah Carey. I`m not trying to take anything from them. But would Elvis ever do something like "Glitter?" Hands-down, no. He would never make that mistake.

But times are so different these days - the way we`re buying music. It`s a different era. You can`t compare the three of them, in my opinion.

ANDERSON: Well, to that end, Jason, I do want to point out that when Elvis was alive, there was only one way to buy his music - buy a record. And now there are, you know, CDs. There are the digital downloads. Janelle, should the record books maybe have an asterisk next to Mariah and Madonna`s saying, "Hey, they may not have won this fairly."

SNOWDEN: Oh, I get it. So we`re doing like an equal opportunity offending of the fans here?

ANDERSON: Why?

SNOWDEN: No, no, no. I`m telling you, if you do that, then Mariah`s and Madonna`s fans who might trump Elvis` in some parts of the world - I`m not sure - would have a major issue. I mean a purchase is a purchase no matter how you do it. It`s just that then you couldn`t buy them digitally.

I`m sure if digital sales were available in Elvis` day, they would have happened just the same way. But whether you pay it on - pay for a record online and put your credit card number in, or you to an actual store, you`re still purchasing. It still takes an effort. So I don`t think so. And if you do, Miss Mariah will come after you with one of those stilettos she loves to wear.

ANDERSON: Oh, watch out for that. Well, you guys, you know it has been more than 30 years since Elvis died. And we all know how fanatical Elvis fans can be. There are hundreds, if not thousands of Elvis impersonators out there. Jason, let me ask you this. What do you think? Some 30 years from now, in the year 2038, will we be seeing hundreds of Madonna and Mariah impersonators play in Las Vegas?

KENNEDY: Hard to tell right now. But Vegas might be a stretch for those impersonators. Maybe Hollywood Boulevard, maybe birthdays, bar mitzvahs. I just don`t see in 2038, you know, an impersonator in Vegas going "Touch My Body." I don`t think that`s the song that we`re going to be talking about, you know, for another - maybe year or two. Love you, Mariah. I just don`t see it, but I think you can`t top the king. You can`t compare him with those two.

SNOWDEN: I don`t know, I just felt -

ANDERSON: Can you give us that line again, Jason? That was pretty good.

KENNEDY: I`m sorry. That would never happen again.

ANDERSON: OK, just once. Janelle, what do you think? Do you think we`ll see the same fervor from impersonators for Madonna and Mariah?

SNOWDEN: I hate to say it, but we are actually already seeing it. I used to travel to Vegas once a month for work. And let me just tell you, the Madonna impersonators are already there.

So I can only imagine as the years multiply, we`ll start to see even more of them. And I mean they`re fun to impersonate after all. I mean they`re so fabulous. They`re so divalicious. If I were an impersonator, those would be like my top picks - next to Elvis, of course.

ANDERSON: And you never know what you`re going to see on the Vegas strip. Jason Kennedy, Janelle Snowden, thank you both. Good to see you.

KENNEDY: Good to see you.

ANDERSON: And we want you to know that you can now watch video reports from SHOWBIZ TONIGHT anytime on our Web site. We`re always posting new ones. That`s at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight.

HAMMER: And over to you now for our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day. "Madonna and Mariah Top Elvis: Are they greater than the king?" You can sound off on this at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. You can also E-mail us at showbiztonight@cnn.com.

ANDERSON: All right. Straight ahead, lessons for Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney`s little sister, 16 and pregnant. But she isn`t the only star sibling to find herself in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. We have lessons that Jamie Lynn could learn from other famous little sisters. That`s next on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

HAMMER: Also big news for Beyonce and Jay-Z. They are reportedly getting married. But here`s what a lot of people are thinking - Jay-Z`s got 99 problems and well, getting hitched is one of them. I happen to think that some stars are just better off staying happily unmarried. I will tell you why, coming up.

We will also have this -

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JILL DOBSON, "STAR" MAGAZINE: Every time your man dates someone else or marries someone else, you have to see it on the cover of every magazine on every newsstand you walk by.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Divorce is hard enough. But I can`t imagine going through it public. How do Hollywood wives deal with seeing their ex-husbands start new lives with new women? Coming up, a showbiz special report, "Hollywood`s First Wives` Club."

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. You`re watching TV`s most provocative entertainment news show.

Tonight, Jamie Lynn Spears, I want you to listen up because class is now in session with lessons you can learn from other famous little sisters. Do we get my professor`s cap? Well, not in the budget. OK.

Well, until she got pregnant at 16, Jamie Lynn Spears was just seen as, you know, Britney`s little sister. But hold on just a second, because SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can now reveal that she`s not the only star little sis to step out of the shadows and into a scandal.

Joining me tonight from Hollywood, host of "Extra," Dana Devin. Also in Hollywood tonight, entertainment reporter Shira Lazar.

Shira, Dana, let us start off, shall we, with a lesson from Ashlee Simpson. Now, when she was younger, Ashlee, if you think about it, was the polar opposite of her big sis Jessica. You know, she had the dark hair. She had the black nail polish going on, kind of a punk edge. Shira, let me start with you. Isn`t that what Jamie Lynn really needs to do, kind of become the anti-Britney, really be her own person?

SHIRA LAZAR, ENTERTAINMENT REPORTER: And you know what, A.J.? She was doing that by being the good girl on the Nickelodeon show. But she`s obviously thrown that out the window being pregnant now in Louisiana, going back to school.

But if she wants to re-branch herself in Hollywood and launch her career again when she gives birth, she definitely needs to take another route and be known as Jamie Lynn, Britney Spears` sister, but Jamie Lynn, her own entity.

HAMMER: Yes. What do you think of that, Dana? Because carving out your own identity in Hollywood, obviously, is so important. But when you are a little sister of a big star, you want to emulate them. You want to be just like them.

DANA DEVIN, HOST, "EXTRA": Well, I think we`re forgetting one thing, and I`m not a relationship expert or a psychologist. But what I am is a mom, and I think actually what she needs to be focusing on right now is inwardly not outwardly. I don`t think she needs to be worrying about her image right now.

I think she needs to be taking care of herself, taking care of her body. Making sure that that baby`s healthy. Preparing herself for really what is the most stressful job you can possibly have and that`s being a young mother bringing a baby into the world.

So I think before she worries about any of that, I think she needs to think about this baby that`s going to be here in a few months.

HAMMER: Well, then you`re going to love this next lesson that I have - or maybe not. This one from Janet Jackson. Now, we remember that when she was 20 years old, she managed to escape the pressure of dealing with her truly dysfunctional family at the time.

So what do you think, Dana? Even though she`s just 16 and obviously it`s important to have family around with a new baby. But isn`t it kind of what Jamie Lynn needs to do, sort of stay away from the crazy whirlwind that swirls around the Spears family?

DEVIN: You know, it`s a great question and I don`t know the Spears family. But what I do know, is that - you know, I sat down today with Larry Rudolph, and he`s Britney`s long-time manager and he actually discovered Britney. And he said that he had visited Britney in the last few days and she`s doing really, really well. And he credits Jamie Spears, her father, for that.

So I actually think it`s never too late to try to be a good parent. And I think that she may need her family more now than ever before. And she does need to stay grounded. She does need to have some familiar relationships. And I think that the family might be the best thing for her. And even in Hollywood, blood is thicker than water.

HAMMER: Well, fair enough. Let`s get quickly to our next lesson for Solange Knowles, little sister Beyonce. Now, when she was 17, she got pregnant and married. Now, she basically stays in Beyonce`s shadow even though she`s still writing sons for her. Shira, is that kind of what Jamie Lynn needs to do - sort of accept that your big sis is a superstar and you know, get over it?

LAZAR: Yes, listen. Jamie Lynn is not going to achieve the same sort of superstardom as Britney. She`s like the Madonna of her generation. No one will ever achieve that. So that point - yes. There`s no point of her bringing (UNINTELLIGIBLE) to herself. Make it a family affair, go on the family payroll and call it a day and have a good life.

HAMMER: Well, no doubt she`s in a difficult situation. We obviously wish her the best in making it go as smoothly as possible. Dana Devin, Shira Lazar, I thank you both. .

ANDERSON: Jamie Lynn`s big sister having troubles of her own. Check out this brand new video of Britney getting absolutely mobbed. Wait a second. Didn`t the paparazzi say they were laying off Britney? It sure doesn`t look like it. It looks downright dangerous. That`s next.

HAMMER: Also, Beyonce and Jay-Z reportedly tying the knot. But hold up just one second. Maybe they should just not. You know, I think some stars are actually better off staying happily unmarried. We`ll get into that coming up.

And we will also have this -

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DOBSON: First wives of Hollywood, here`s my advice to you. Follow Ivana`s motto - don`t get mad, get everything.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: All right. Even if Hollywood`s first wives do get everything, there`s one thing they can`t seem to avoid. How do stars deal with seeing their former husbands with new women? And it`s on the cover of every magazine. Straight ahead, the showbiz special report, "Hollywood`s First Wives Club."

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer. And tonight, unbelievable Britney Spears video. She was out shopping in Hollywood and it just turned into one utter mob scene - the paparazzi swarming everywhere. The police had to be called so she could get to her car.

Joining me once again, host of "Extra," Dana Devin and entertainment journalist, Shira Lazar.

Gang, take a look at this video. This is something. It`s a scene we`ve gotten unfortunately a bit used to. Britney Spears out shopping on Tuesday. It looks like - I don`t know - 30 guys pushing and shoving and cursing, just to try to get that good shot.

Dana Devin, what gives here? I mean the paparazzi said they were done with Britney. They were moving on to Miley Cyrus. Did they just decide - real quick - that, you know, Miley watch is a big snooze?

DEVIN: It`s so funny you said that because Miley Cyrus was actually on Ryan Seacrest`s radio show here in Los Angeles the other day. And she was saying, "Look, I`m the biggest bore. All I do is sleep and eat, and I hang out with my family and friends and that`s it. I don`t go to clubs. So they`re going to move off me quickly."

Apparently they may have moved back to Britney. They`re still hoping she`ll do that one crazy thing that warrant them tens of thousands of dollars for one photo. They haven`t given up hope yet. But Larry Rudolph, the man who discovered Britney, said he went to her house the other day and there was not a paparazzi in sight. So the interest does seem to be waning a bit.

HAMMER: Maybe that`s the case. I`m just hoping they don`t kind of, you know, push her over the edge. Things are going so well. In fact, last night, right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, we revealed for the first time why there is hope for Britney Spears. And chief among the reasons we doled out, she`s been avoiding the paparazzi. What do you think, Shira? Should we be concerned here?

LAZAR: I don`t think we should be concerned, because the fact is paparazzi is always going to be there. They`re always going to be prodding. It`s more in the way she deals with it. Luckily, her family is around right now and they`re forcing her not to connect with people that were negative in her life.

And we`re seeing the change. She`s getting back to her thing. She`s meeting with her former manager, Larry Rudolph, hopefully getting back on track, even going on a new diet. So the fact is the paparazzi is going to be there, just now, hopefully, she`ll deal with it in a more positive way for herself.

HAMMER: Dana, I`ve only got about 10 seconds here. Do you agree? Should we be troubled, or is this just one off.

DEVIN: You know, Rome wasn`t built in a day. She still has to go out. She`s still a human being, and they`re still watching.

HAMMER: Absolutely. Dana Devin, Shira Lazar, thank you for being with us tonight. And remember, for the latest breaking Britney news and latest video, you can always go to the Britney Drama section of our Web site. You will find it at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight.

Well, big news for Beyonce and Jay-Z. The report is they`re getting married. Great news, right? Well, not so fast because I have a case to make tonight that some stars are actually better off staying happily unmarried. That is coming up.

ANDERSON: And speaking of staying single, I bet Paul McCartney is wishing he would have. Heather Mills got $50 million from Paul McCartney. But guess what? She`s still ticked off and threatening to blow the divorce case wide open. I`ve got to ask, should Heather just shut up? That`s coming up.

We`ll also have this -

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: You know, divorce is hard enough. Imagine if you had to go through a divorce in public - I mean on the newsstands, on the TV shows. I wanted to know how do Hollywood wives deal with seeing their ex-husbands start new lives with new women, because you know they see it? Coming up, it`s a showbiz special report, "Hollywood`s First Wives Club."

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson, and here are some more stories that are new right now.

The bogus doctor who injected Priscilla Presley and other stars with silicone that`s used to lubricate car parts may be getting kicked out of the country. Proceedings are under way to deport Dr. Daniel Serrano to his home country of Argentina. Serrano has a hearing in Immigration Court next week.

Movie critic Roger Ebert will resume writing his reviews later this month but is still unable to speak after surgery to remove a cancerous growth on his salivary gland. The Ebert and Roeper co-host says he`ll need another surgery to restore his speech.

And there was some unplanned action on the set of the new James bond movie. Daniel Craig is filming "Quantum of Solace" in northern Chile and the mayor of the town isn`t thrilled about it. The mayor burst onto the set complaining about excessive police presence in the small town and because the town is being used to represent Bolivia in the movie. The mayor was detained by police for public disorder.

HAMMER: Wow. Big news for Jay-Z and Beyonce. Now, the report is that they`re getting married. Great news, right? Well, not so fast because I have a case to make that some stars are better off staying happily unmarried. That`s right. Everybody say "I don`t." That is coming up.

And here are two people who maybe should have stayed unmarried - Heather Mills and Paul McCartney. She got $50 million but Heather is still threatening to blow their divorce case wide open. Should Heather just shut up? That`s coming up.

On SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, unmarried in Hollywood. Tonight, as one of the biggest star couples - talking Beyonce and Jay-Z - look like they`re finally about to tie the knot. I`ve got to ask, is it a good idea? Maybe they`re crazy in love, but would they and other stars actually be better off not walking down the aisle?

JILL DOBSON, "STAR" MAGAZINE: Every time your man dates someone else or marries someone else, you have to see it on the cover of every magazine on every newsstand you walk by.

HAMMER: I`ve got to hand it to the first wives of Hollywood stars. You know, it isn`t easy. Just how do they bounce back? How do they go on seeing their men with new women? I`m giving a shout-out to the "Hollywood First Wives Club." It`s a showbiz special report.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson coming to you tonight from Hollywood. This is TV`s most provocative entertainment news show.

HAMMER: Well, it`s finally happened. Tonight, after six years of dating, are power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z getting hitched? That`s the word. The crazy in love superstars have reportedly filed for a marriage license in Westchester County in New York, just outside of New York City. But hold on, Beyonce and Jay-Z. Don`t do it yet. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can now tell you that when it comes to making love last in Hollywood, you know, marriage - it can be a curse.

Joining me tonight in New York, Dr. Judy Kuriansky clinical psychologist and author of "The Complete Idiot`s Guide to a Healthy Relationship." Joining me from Miami tonight, Steve Santagati of "AskSteveSantagati.com." All right.

Steve, Judy, we know the deal. The Hollywood marriage battlefield just littered with all these power couples who could not make it last. You know, we have the Brad Pitt and Jen Aniston, Rene Zellweger and Kenny Chesney. What do you think, Steve? Are Beyonce and Jay-Z just asking for trouble by getting married after so many years of unwedded bliss?

STEVE SANTAGATI, "ASKSTEVESANTAGATI.COM": The headline is, "If it ain`t broken, don`t fix it." And I think there`s a lot of couples out there that have made great relationships with just living with each other.

However, you know, I`ve met Beyonce and I`ve met her mom. She comes from really good stock. They`re a really nice family - the experience I`ve had with them. So I think that maybe they want to make it legit. And I hope they have a pre-nup in case things don`t work out - that`s all.

I don`t see any need for marriage ever, unless your going to have kids and they all want to have the same last name. It doesn`t make sense to me, especially when you look at the track record of Hollywood couples and all the pressure that`s put upon you, that`s different from people in the rest of the world, the real world, I should say. I would just avoid it, if you can.

HAMMER: Dr. Judy, he says marriage in general -

DR. JUDY KURIANSKY, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST: Yes. He`s just kidding.

HAMMER: Doesn`t make sense to Steve there.

KURIANSKY: I can`t believe, Steve, you actually came out and said you`re against marriage in general. This is absurd.

KURIANSKY: It`s up to you. I`m married (UNINTELLIGIBLE), Judy.

HAMMER: OK. But what about for Jay-Z and Beyonce? Are they jinxing a good thing now if they get married, Judy?

KURIANSKY: I don`t think so. They`re a wonderful power couple. They`ve spent six years together. They`ve weathered a lot of superstardom for sure - him with his major entrepreneur businesses; her with now being a star, not only R & B singing but on the silver screen.

SANTAGATI: We guess their resume.

KURIANSKY: Listen, the point is that if couples have been together, I would say, even for three years and weathered, it`s about time. They`ve doubled that. They`ve proven that they really care about each other.

HAMMER: Judy -

KURIANSKY: There aren`t major rumors, you know, so far, about anything else is going on. They`re constantly -

SANTAGATI: Oh, come on. There`s a new -

HAMMER: Hold on. Hold on a second.

KURIANSKY: They ought to take the plunge and do it.

HAMMER: All right. Hold on. And Steve, this may be backing up where I think you`re going. Because if you look around in Hollywood, you know, certainly no shortage of power couples who didn`t get married and have been together a long time. Let me run a few down for you. We have Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, happily unmarried now for 25 years.

SANTAGATI: That`s right.

HAMMER: Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, 20 years. And to your point, Steve, it seems like something seems to be working there.

SANTAGATI: Yes. I think marriage - for a lot of people - marriage is an outdated institution. I don`t think we need it anymore. Judy, I know you want to marry me because I get your E-mails every day.

KURIANSKY: Oh, you`ve got to be kidding me.

SANTAGATI: But relax for a second. Judy, calm down. Calm down. Now, listen, here`s the thing. You don`t have to get married. Basically, the relationship happens in the heart anyways. They`re committed to each other whether a priest, rabbi, minister, whatever comes across them and says, now you`re married.

KURIANSKY: It`s still wrong.

SANTAGATI: Guys are only married in the heart. That`s it. End of story. As soon as he stopped dating other people and she stopped dating other people, they were a couple.

KURIANSKY: For Beyonce and for Jay-Z, this is a sign of their true commitment and it is a wonderful message to other people. Just because other couples haven`t done it - just as Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins haven`t done it or Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel - that doesn`t mean that they shouldn`t be the ones who prove that it can work and does work -

SANTAGATI: More people have done it.

KURIANSKY: And that it will. And for you to say marriage is just gone is ridiculous. This is a way for them to feel it.

HAMMER: Well, what about Steve`s point, Judy - What about Steve`s original point when he says - and I guess this was the case for Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell and Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, "If it ain`t broke, don`t fix it?"

KURIANSKY: That doesn`t matter. If it ain`t broke, then do something that makes it even more gorgeous and more fixed and more attractive.

SANTAGATI: Judy, you have nothing. You`re treading water. You`re treading.

KURIANSKY: I am not. You are ruining it for everybody who wants to make a commitment.

SANTAGATI: I`m not ruining it for everybody.

KURIANSKY: Exactly.

SANTAGATI: Love happens in the heart.

KURIANSKY: The point is that when love puts the ring on the finger too, it really tells the world, we are together and themselves. They`re taking another step ahead. And look who`s ending up doing it? The Brangelina couple even to make a family and -

SANTAGATI: That`s it. Judy?

KURIANSKY: To feel their commitment and their love. And that is not just in the heart. It`s on your finger and it`s legally written out.

HAMMER: All right. Actually - Let me stop you there.

SANTAGATI: Go ahead.

HAMMER: Let me just move on to this one other point, Steve. You know, it`s been said that it`s harder for celebrities with equally great star power to make it work like Beyonce and Jay-Z. Do you buy that? I mean, it sounds like it is.

SANTAGATI: Yes, I do. I do - I do buy that because a relationship takes a lot of work and you`re pulled in a lot of other places.

KURIANSKY: Thank you.

SANTAGATI: Jay-Z had a big party down here in Miami, I believe, for the launch of his tour. And she wasn`t there because she probably had something else going on.

KURIANSKY: No -

SANTAGATI: And in a normal couple, the wife would support the husband, the husband supports the wife.

KURIANSKY: No! Come on.

HAMMER: Got to end it there. Sorry, Judy. I wanted to let you get in.

KURIANSKY: They have their separate lives and still be committed.

HAMMER: Out of time. Wrapping it up. Judy Kuriansky, Steve Santagati - but stay where you are, please. Remain in your seats. One couple who should not have gotten married, and we can all agree on this, Paul McCartney and Heather Mills, although they have a beautiful daughter together.

But a lot of people really wish that Heather would just go away. Now, she just won that $50 million from Paul. But now, she might be going back into court. Heather, just take a vacation, will you? You`ve got to hear this coming up next.

We will also have this -

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DOBSON: First wives of Hollywood, here`s my advice to you. Follow Ivana`s motto - don`t get mad, get everything.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, Ivana Trump and The Donald - I`ve got to give a shutout to the first wives of the biggest Hollywood stars. It`s amazing how they bounced back because it isn`t easy seeing your ex with his new woman. Tonight, a showbiz special report, "The First Wives` Club."

HAMMER: Well, Sally Field has been married a couple of times herself. She`s over 60 now and it`s kind of hard to believe. Look at her, how fantastic Sally is looking. You`ve got to hear what Sally Field is revealing about her sex life. That is coming up on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. Tonight, a brand new Heather Mills shocker. Mills, of course, already got $48 million in a divorce settlement with Paul McCartney. But she just won`t go away.

Now, her lawyer is saying she might actually try to get the gag order lifted on the transcripts from their vicious courtroom battle.

Back with us again, Dr. Judy Kuriansky, clinical psychologist and author. And Steve Santagati of "AskSteveSantagati.com." It doesn`t make a lot of sense to me. Steve, let`s start with you. You know, Mills already got the cash mother lode. So what is the point here? Should she just shut up and give this a rest already?

SANTAGATI: Yes, she should let it go? Life is too short, for starters. But she has a bunch of those lawyers behind her going. She`ll be like taking the schoolyard, picking a fight, yes, go get her. Go get him. Go get - And you know what I mean?

It`s stupid, it`s immature and her lawyers are smart because they`re going to get money off her legal fees, for starters and any kind of thing she might be able to get out or McCartney after this. But if I were her, I would shut up and let the relationship go. Your closure is now over. You`ve got your closure. Leave.

HAMMER: Yes. It`s pretty clear, though, that something is stopping her from letting it go. Dr. Judy, you`re an expert in what`s going on in the brain.

KURIANSKY: Yes.

HAMMER: What do you think is going on in the brain or the various parts with Heather Mills?

SANTAGATI: Steve, I disagree with you it`s about her lawyers, because you can tell your lawyers you don`t want to go there. What`s going on with Heather has to do, as A.J. said, with what her brain and her own ego is telling her.

It`s like that phrase, "Never underestimate the power of a woman scorned." I have seen so many women in counseling who are mad as hell at the guy that they feel they got skewered by no matter what money is involved.

SANTAGATI: Pardon the pun.

KURIANSKY: That their particular ego and their image. And now, Heather Mills - we know she`s got a big ego and a big image and she wants the public to know what the dirty -

SANTAGATI: All right.

what he was wrong by -

SANTAGATI: So do you think she`s an idiot or not?

KURIANSKY: Well, I agree. She should let it go. But women like that won`t because they want to have their say and they want people to know what a rat the guy was. And they won`t stop until that happens.

KURIANSKY: Yes, you`re right, Judy.

HAMMER: So kind of a control thing? I think we can all agree on that.

KURIANSKY: Just like "First Wives` Club."

HAMMER: Yes. Now, Steve, let me raise this point. You have said before, right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, that you find Heather, in a way, kind of sexy.

SANTAGATI: I do.

HAMMER: Because of the way she behaves.

SANTAGATI: Right.

HAMMER: Does the fact that she`s kind of hanging in there and going back to the court, does it at all change your mind, Steve Santagati?

SANTAGATI: No, she - what Heather Mills needs to know is that I`m here. I have a lot of ways to spend $48 million. Take your energy off the lawyers, off the court, come over here to Florida and we`ll go fishing.

HAMMER: Dr. Judy, do you think Steve Santagati should just go away? No, I don`t know.

KURIANSKY: Yes, right. Listen, there is nothing sexy about seeking revenge.

SANTAGATI: She`s sexy.

KURIANSKY: Revenge can erode -

SANTAGATI: I love revenge. I`m a Scorpio. I love revenge.

KURIANSKY: You`re hard. I counsel people all the time, do not go for that revenge. Let it go.

HAMMER: Let`s end it right there. What a perfectly way to do that. Dr. Judy Kuriansky, I thank you very much. And Steve Santagati, we thank you, too. Best of luck there with Heather. Remember, you can now watch exciting SHOWBIZ TONIGHT video reports anytime on our Web site which is CNN.com/ShowbizTonight.

ANDERSON: I don`t think Steve needs to hold his breath for a date with Heather, A.J. But tonight, I`ve got a revealing look at the women who did bounce back after a devastating break-up.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DOBSON: Every time your man dates someone else or marries someone else, you have to see it on the cover of every magazine on every newsstand you walk by.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: I`ve got to give a shoutout to the first wives of the biggest Hollywood stars. It`s amazing how they`ve recovered. Tonight, my SHOWBIZ TONIGHT special report, "The First Wives Club."

Well, Brooke, Sally Field`s been married a couple of times. She`s one of my favorite stars. She`s never afraid to speak her mind. You`ve got to hear what she is now saying about her sex life after 60. Love Sally Field. That is coming up.

Also coming up, Oprah`s emotional tribute to a beloved dog. It was really something really special for her Cocker Spaniel who just died. Stick around for that.

But first, we`ve been asking you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day. Madonna has more top ten hits than Elvis and Mariah now has more number one songs than the king. So "Madonna and Mariah Top Elvis: Are they greater than the king?" You can keep voting at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. You can also E-mail us at showbiztonight@cnn.com.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Thank you, Brad. Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. OK. So I know that so many Hollywood couples fall in love, get married and get divorced like that. And that often leaves stunned and bitter exes behind.

So then the big question becomes, how can they bounce back? And just how do they make it through such a painful and emotional time. It`s something so many women everywhere can relate to and can learn from. So right here, right now, I`m giving respect to Hollywood`s first wives club and boy, do they deserve it. You go girls. It`s a revealing showbiz special report.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

JILL DOBSON, "STAR" MAGAZINE: If you think being a first wife is hard, try being a first wife in Hollywood. Every time your man dates someone else or marries someone else, you have to see it on the cover of every magazine, of every newsstand you walk by.

ANDERSON: And Brad Pitt`s first wife, Jennifer Anniston, knows that tune all too well. After their divorce in January 2005, Brad wasted no time getting over Jen.

DOBSON: Jen famously said that Brad was missing a sensitivity chip when their relationship ended, and that was clear by how quickly he entered in full-fledge family with Angelina.

ANDERSON: In a matter of months, Brad was hot and heavy with "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" co-star Angelina Jolie. The Jolie-Pitt clan is hard to escape. No one will ever know how the first Mrs. Pitt really feels about her ex, but she let the world know that life would go on.

COOPER LAWRENCE, RELATIONSHIP EXPERT: Jennifer Aniston got herself on the cover of "Vanity Fair", immediately, to let us all know she is fine, she looks great and she is OK. Now, imagine having to do that.

ANDERSON: Hollywood is full of first wives. Ivana Trump is one of the more famous. Her status as the first Mrs. Donald Trump - Marla and Melania followed respectively - even scored Ivana a cameo in the comedy hit, "The First Wives Club."

IVANA TRUMP: Don`t get mad. Get everything.

ANDERSON: And actress Amy Irving took that advice to heart. Amy, first wife to director Steven Spielberg, walked away with a cool $100 million of Spielberg`s fortune. A payout that might have lessened the pain of seeing Steven remarry and live happily ever after with second wife, Kate Capshaw, and their six children.

Other first wives might take the "sweet revenge" approach, perhaps best portrayed in the Hollywood hit "The First Wives Club."

BETTE MIDLER, ACTRESS: I want him dumped - by little Miss Midriff, by that Stairmaster, L`Oreal, crotch jockey, in front of everyone in the Western Hemisphere, on the 6:00 news. OK?

DIANE KEATON, ACTRESS: Well, I gave Darren(ph) a home and I gave him a daughter. I washed his shorts. I ironed them and I starched them.

GOLDIE HAWN, ACTRESS: You did?

MIDLER: You did?

KEATON: Yes. Well, I mean, I supervised.

LAWRENCE: We made the guy what he is. We put him together, we trained him, we cut his hair, we dressed him, and he`s fabulous. And now she gets him. She gets the benefit of our hard work.

ANDERSON: Heather Locklear and former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres are two more members of the first wives club who had to watch as their hubbies said bye-bye to them, and hello to the next Mrs. Right.

DOBSON: It appeared Richie left Heather for her best friend Denise Richards.

ANDERSON: Former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres feels that pain. She married Latin singing sensation Marc Anthony, not once, but twice.

DOBSON: Very quickly after his marriage ended with Dayanara, within months, he was with Jennifer Lopez and walking down the aisle, again.

ANDERSON: So SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has an idea for the first wives of Hollywood. Unite!

HAWN: I mean, if all the first wives in the world got together, what else do we need?

MIDLER: Just one amazing attorney.

DOBSON: First wives of Hollywood, here`s my advice to you. Follow Ivana`s motto - don`t get mad, get everything.

ANDERSON: And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has your leader. Demi Moore, first wife to Bruce Willis and now first wife to Ashton Kutcher, who is 15 years her junior.

LAWRENCE: She didn`t wallow. She looks better than ever, and she is with this much younger, really hot guy, that anyone of us would be thrilled to be with. So she is a really good example of a first wife that just spun it on him.

KEATON: First wives club, come to order.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: Well, this Hollywood marriage stuff is never black and white, right? Just look at Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott. They were both married to their first spouses when they met each other. They ditched those relationships and now Tori and Dean are married. Follow that? They now have a baby with another one on the way. Have a reality show on "Oxygen," and Tori is out with an tell-all book.

HAMMER: Well, Sally Field has certainly been one of those first wives and she has certainly bounced back. You know, Sally definitely one of my favorites; one of the reasons - because she doesn`t pull any punches. You`ve got to hear what she`s saying about sex after turning 60. I`ve got that coming up next.

And now I need you to know that you can watch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT anytime you`d like. All you have to do is download our podcast. Put me right there in the iPod. It`s absolutely free. You`ll find the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT podcast on our Web site, CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. If you prefer to use the iTunes method, that is acceptable as well. Just type "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" into the search box they provide. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is coming straight back.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Here are some more stories that are new right now. Well, a lot of people out there think 60 is the new sexy. You can count Sally Field as one of them. She`s 60 plus, but she also admits she`s made some mistakes when it comes to past hook-ups.

Sally tells "Ladies Home Journal," quote, "The feelings are still alive and thriving. And certainly, feeling that excitement with someone, that heated attraction - I miss that a lot. But too often in my life I`ve given up things for that. Women often give up pieces of themselves to feel the rush of excitement that comes with sex usually because they mistake it for true intimacy, and they end up losing. I won`t do that again."

Well, the next time the Avon lady comes knocking at your door - I guess ringing the doorbell, it could actually Dr. McDreamy making a house call. Yes, the "Grey`s Anatomy" star is launching a male fragrance with Avon. Now, he may have an "and" though. His wife, Gillian, does work for the company.

And Oprah Winfrey is going to dedicate an upcoming show to her Cocker Spaniel, Sophie, who died last month from kidney failure. She`s been investigating abuses at puppy mills based on the, quote, "horrific conditions." Oprah now says she would only adopt pets from shelters.

ANDERSON: On Tuesday, we asked you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day, "Kathie Lee Gifford returning to TV to co-host the fourth hour of the "Today" show.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MATT LAUER, HOST, "THE TODAY SHOW": To quote Michael Corleone in "Godfather 3," "Just when they throw us out, they dragged me back in."

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD, TV PERSONALITY: I know. And you know what? It couldn`t be worse timing in some ways. I mean I`m literally - I`m eight years older, ten pounds heavier and a half inch shorter and just in time for HD television. No sense.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

So we asked you, Kathie Lee Gifford, the right choice for `The Today Show.` Only 24 percent of you say yes; 76 percent of you say no.

Some of the E-mails - Laura from Nevada thinks it is good move, "She`s passionate, witty, funny. What`s not to like?"

But Jolyn from Florida says, "Kathie Lee Gifford? Is this an April Fool`s joke? I`m glad I`m at work during that last hour?" Brutal.

HAMMER: Wow. Not a lot of love there for Kathie Lee. Well, that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I thank you for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

ANDERSON: I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. Remember, you can always catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on the 11:00s - 11:00 p.m. Eastern, 11:00 p.m. Pacific and in the morning, 11:00 a.m. Eastern. The latest from "HEADLINE NEWS" is next.
