NANCY GRACE

Alleged Mistress Reveals Tiger Woods Voice-mail

Aired December 2, 2009 - 20:00:00   ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

NANCY GRACE, HOST: Breaking news tonight, live, Windermere, Florida. Superstar golf phenomenon Tiger Woods leaving his home barefoot 2:00 AM after Thanksgiving Day celebrations, drives out of his multi-million-dollar compound and has a head-on collision with a tree and a fire hydrant? His young wife, mother of his two children, reportedly hears the crash from inside the house, runs out and beats out both back windows of Woods`s Cadillac. Woods refusing to talk to police not once, not twice, but three times. And why -- why -- does a neighbor have to call 911? We have the 911 call. Woods pulling out of his own golf tournament as rumors of an alleged affair between Tiger Woods and a nightclub hostess hit the newsstand just hours before the so-called crash.

Bombshell tonight. After police charge Tiger Woods and the alleged mistress gives her side, Woods still in hiding, not allowing his face or his injuries to be seen by the public, releasing a statement, apologizing for, quote, "transgressions." This as more alleged mistresses come out of the woodwork, including a 24-year-old cocktail waitress. And tonight, a voice-mail surfaces allegedly of Woods asking the waitress to alter her taped phone greeting because his wife is onto him.

Also tonight, police release photos of the crime scene and a diagram showing Woods`s twists and turns that night. Was he under the influence or was he fighting off an attack by golf club? In any event, if Woods were an ordinary Joe, wouldn`t the charges be more serious, especially in light of an alleged cover-up not only to his wife, but to police? All that money, all those trophies. He`s the very first athlete to surpass $1 billion in earnings. What really happened to Tiger Woods?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: My two officers arrived at the scene and noticed Tiger Woods laying on the ground.

911 OPERATOR: Is he unconscious?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes.

911 OPERATOR: OK. Are you able to tell if he`s breathing?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: No, I can`t tell right now.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: This story just doesn`t make sense. You don`t get up out of your bed at 2:00 AM, drive your car and run it into a tree!

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: There were reports that there was a domestic dispute before Tiger Woods left his house in the SUV. There were some reports that what actually happened was that she struck the SUV with a golf club. Her story was that she actually used that to get him out.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Tiger Woods makes a public admission and says he regrets his transgressions. The sports superstar is addressing tabloid speculation set off by his one-vehicle wreck last week in Florida. He is apologizing for "personal failings."

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: This apology is coming the same day "US Weekly" published a story alleging Woods began an affair with a Los Angeles woman back in 2007.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Jaimee Grubbs, who appeared on the VH-1 network show "Tool Academy," says she has text messages and voice-mails from Woods, including one recorded three days before he crashed his SUV in Florida.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: CNN has not confirmed the authenticity of the recording or whether the voice, in fact, belongs to Tiger Woods.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hey, it`s -- it`s Tiger. I need you to do me a huge favor. Can you please take your name off your phone? My wife went through my phone and may be calling you because she can. Please take your name off that, and what do you call it, just have it as a number on the voice-mail, just have it as your telephone number, OK? You got to do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right, bye.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: If he had come out, say, the Monday after the accident or whatever, acknowledged his problems and said, I`ll try to do better, please leave us alone to settle our problems within our own circle, then I think things would have not gotten to this point.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: And live to Missouri. A 21-year-old mom disappears from a local sports bar, leaving a beautiful 6-month-old baby girl at home. Tonight, where is Christina Whittaker (ph)?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The search is on for 21-year-old mom Christina Whittaker. She vanishes after a night out on the town with friends.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Christina`s mom says she has bipolar disorder and needs her medication. She also says Christina would never leave her 6- month-old infant daughter behind. Christina`s cell phone was reportedly found a block from the bar where she was last seen.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Authorities searching for Christina by boat and all-terrain vehicle, knocking on doors at places she has contacts and questioning family and friends, police broadening their scope in the desperate search for 21-year-old mom Christina Whittaker.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Good evening. I`m Nancy Grace. I want to thank you for being with us. Bombshell tonight. After police charge Tiger Woods and the alleged mistress gives her side of the story, Woods still in hiding, not allowing his face or injuries to be seen by the public, releasing an apology for, quote, "transgressions." This as more alleged mistresses come out of the woodwork, photos of the crime scene and a diagram showing Woods`s twists and turns that night released by police. Was he under the influence or was he fighting off an attack by golf club? In any event, if Tiger Woods were an ordinary Joe, wouldn`t the charges be more serious, especially in light of an alleged cover-up not only to his wife about some affair, but to police?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The investigation has determined that Mr. Woods is at fault in the crash. This afternoon, FHP is in the process of issuing a uniform traffic citation for careless driving to Mr. Woods.

GRACE: The facts really don`t seem to hang together between his and his wife`s story about what happened that night. Coincidentally, the incident occurred just hours after the story hit the stands with a "National Enquirer" front cover that Tiger Woods is allegedly involved in an affair with a New York party girl.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The sports superstar is addressing tabloid speculation set off by his one-vehicle accident in Florida last week. Woods is apologizing for, quote, "personal failings."

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: All this comes on the very day "US Weekly" is out with a story alleging Tiger began an affair with a Los Angeles cocktail waitress in 2007. Jaimee Grubbs, who appeared on the VH-1 network show "Tool Academy," said she has text messages and voice-mails from Tiger Woods, including one recorded just three days before he crashed his SUV in Florida.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: CNN has not confirmed the authenticity of that recording or whether the voice on it does belong to Tiger Woods.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He is such a private person that I`m sure that this is agony personified. He has guarded his privacy so jealously over the years, and I`m sure that he`s hurting right now.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Joining us from WDBO, Drew Petrimoulx there near Tiger Woods`s home. You know, a lot of the focus tonight on other outlets seems to be Tiger Woods had an affair. You could lock up about 50 percent of American men for that. What I`m concerned about is not a cover-up to his wife, but to police. What more do we know? What has taken place in the last 24 hours, Drew Petrimoulx?

DREW PETRIMOULX, WDBO: Well, let`s get right to what came out today from FHP. We got a diagram of what actually happened. And although he was only going about 30 miles an hour, he cut across the street, through a median, hit the fire hydrant, went across the neighbor`s driveway, then into the tree. So while was not going very fast, he seems to have been maneuvering a lot and...

GRACE: OK, hold on.

PETRIMOULX: ... then it seemed like he initially stopped after the first contact.

GRACE: Drew Petrimoulx joining us from WDBO.

Straight to Clark Goldband. You`ve got the diagram. There are a lot of crazy twists and turns, Clark. It makes me wonder, was he under the influence of drugs or alcohol -- we don`t know if his blood alcohol or breathalyzer was taken by local police -- or was he under attack by golf club, specifically a wedge. Go ahead. Hit me.

CLARK GOLDBAND, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER: And Nancy, we`re talking about a short distance, but he certainly had a long way of traveling there. Tiger Woods turned out of his home, first spot he hits is right there on that green median, where he runs into some bushes, then really wide turn on the right side, the first involving some hedges. He then cuts all the way back left and runs over a fire hydrant adjacent to his next-door neighbor`s home, then continues to run that over, plowing straight into a tree.

Now, Nancy, we`ve heard a lot about the replacement costs for this fire hydrant. We spoke with Orange County, who says it`ll cost about $450 to get that fixed, back up and running.

GRACE: Clark, Clark, Clark, don`t care about the cost of the fire hydrant. What I care about is that diagram you were just explaining, it doesn`t fit with Tiger Woods`s story. A lot of things aren`t hanging together tonight, but police seem to be turning a blind eye.

To Ian Drew, senior editor, "US Weekly." You`re breaking a story, Ian? What is it?

IAN DREW, "US WEEKLY": Well, basically, we found another woman. Not the woman everybody thinks he had an affair with, which we also say, well, he did -- Jaimee Grubbs, a 24-year-old cocktail waitress, came forward to the magazine presenting evidence and her detailed story of this affair.

GRACE: What about the voice-mail?

DREW: The voice-mail is very intriguing because it really is the proof in the pudding here. I mean, you can hear him just a few days ago talking about how he wants to cover this up and how he regrets it. What`s very interesting about it is how kind of stupid he seems. I mean, he needs to erase that from his phone. She can`t erase that her name is programmed into his phone. It`s kind of...

GRACE: Well, you know, Ian, what I thought he was asking her...

DREW: Yes.

GRACE: ... was to go into her phone greeting that would say, Hi, I`m Ian Drew...

DREW: Oh.

GRACE: ... and erase "Ian Drew." But you know what?

DREW: I took it to mean -- yes...

GRACE: ... take a listen -- yes, let`s take a listen to the voice- mail right now.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hey, it`s -- it`s Tiger. I need you to do me a huge favor. Can you please take your name off your phone? My wife went through my phone and may be calling you because she can. Please take your name off that, and what do you call it, just have it as a number on the voice-mail, just have it as your telephone number, OK? You got to do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right, bye.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

GRACE: All right, I can`t confirm that`s Tiger Woods`s voice. Can you, Ian?

DREW: Yes.

GRACE: Yes, no.

DREW: Yes, absolutely. And we did go through extensive listening to it over and over, comparing the voices. And we determined it absolutely has to be him.

GRACE: OK, you`re also seeing video of this alleged cocktail waitress who`s come out of the woodwork, Jamie Grubbs. That`s VH-1`s "Tool Academy." Everyone, we are taking your calls. We`ll be right back.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He was in and out of consciousness, with lacerations to his upper and lower lip, a little bit of blood in his mouth, but he was conscious enough to be able to speak a little bit. According to my officers, he was not -- it was not life-threatening injuries, according to them.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What did he say?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Nothing. He was mumbling. That was it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: ... a full-blown Tiger Woods scandal. He`s apologizing to his wife, his family. We also have the voice-mail alleged from Tiger to a mistress.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: This is all coming from the entertainment magazine "US Weekly." Yes, he cheated, hotel hook-ups, dirty texts. The magazine says this alleged other woman is a cocktail waitress. And this isn`t even the same woman that we talked about yesterday.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No wonder the ladies call him Tiger!

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: How many could there be?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: We are taking your calls live. Out to Tracy in Maine. Hi, Tracy.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Hey, Nancy Grace. You are totally awesome, by the way.

GRACE: Thank you. You know what?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: My mother...

GRACE: I`m going to record that...

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: ... and I love you!

GRACE: I`m going to record that and play it back to the twins when they turn teenagers. What`s your question, love?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Well -- well, I have a son myself who`s now 25 and I...

GRACE: God bless you.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: ... would be proud. So my question is, how do we know he wasn`t returning back home instead of leaving home? Who leaves home at, like, 30 miles per hour out of the driveway?

GRACE: OK, let`s take a look at the diagram. I`ve got it right here in the studio. Clark, he`s -- the car is pointing away from the home. And according to him and his wife, don`t they both say he was leaving the home? Plus, where did he go barefoot, Tracy? He was barefoot, wearing a pair of shorts. Clark, explain.

GOLDBAND: Also right, Nancy. But here`s another important point we learned from sorting through this report. The weather condition that day, dry, roads clear. So there was no possible confusion because it was raining or anything like that. He clearly comes out of the driveway, according to law enforcement, and heads straight down, albeit it in...

GRACE: Across a median.

GOLDBAND: ... in a zig-zaggy way, heads straight down there and drives straight over the hydrant, plowing right into the tree. And that`s what stopped Tiger Woods.

GRACE: Although, Tracy in Maine, I completely understand your reasoning.

Joining me right now is a special guest from Brandywine, Maryland, Chuck Pembleton. He is an expert accident reconstructionist. He is the administrator of the National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists.

Mr. Pembleton, thank you for being with us. I`m sure you`ve seen and heard about the diagram. What do you make of it?

CHUCK PEMBLETON, ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTIONIST (via telephone): Well, you know, we have to take into consideration the diagram wasn`t drawn to scale, so we really don`t have any idea of the dimensions of how far the SUV traveled from the time it came out of the driveway to the time it collided with the bushes and then continued, but...

GRACE: Well, we -- we know that it was not going fast enough to set off the airbags.

PEMBLETON: That`s correct.

GRACE: So what do you make of it?

PEMBLETON: Well, the impacts were out on the front corners on both sides of the vehicle, outside of the frame rail. So the device that activates the airbags measures the change in velocity. So if the car hits something really solid and it causes a sudden jerk in the vehicle...

GRACE: Whoa!

PEMBLETON: (INAUDIBLE) make a determination...

GRACE: Take a look at this car! Chuck Pembleton, I don`t know if you can see the screen, but this car is really damaged. Are you surprised they did not give Woods, Tiger Woods, a sobriety test, a breathalyzer or blood alcohol test? He went to the hospital.

PEMBLETON: No, I`m not really surprised. You know -- you know, once they did get to talk with him, you know, they would get close enough to him that they would be able to, you know, check his demeanor and -- and check for slurred speech...

GRACE: Well, they said he was dazed...

PEMBLETON: ... and things like that.

GRACE: They said he was dazed and mumbling.

PEMBLETON: Yes, but that`s -- you know, I mean, you -- you smack into a tree and knock down a fire hydrant, and you know, especially if there was a domestic situation that may have, you know, led to all this. You know, so, you know, everything is excited. His nerves are on the edge and he`s upset. And now he`s -- now he`s demolished this brand-new Cadillac SUV. And you know, and he knows this is going to hit the news media. So he`s got a lot on his mind.

GRACE: Well, according to the neighbors, he was passed out cold and his wife was over him, trying to comfort him or administer CPR.

Out to the lines. Jane in Florida. Hi, Jane.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: How are you?

GRACE: I`m good, dear. What`s your question?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No, I was just wondering -- you know, sure a lot of -- most men do cheat. I mean, it`s in their nature.

GRACE: Well, I know, Jane, that that is not a question.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: OK.

GRACE: We all know the answer to that. So what`s your question?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: OK. Why were these women, these other ladies -- why would they date a married man? They knew he had a wife.

GRACE: Oh, now, I`m going to have to throw that to the shrink. We`re taking your calls live. We`ll be right back.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hey, it`s -- it`s Tiger. I need you to do me a huge favor. Can you please take your name off your phone? My wife went through my phone and may be calling you because she can. Please take your name off that, and what do you call it, just have it as a number on the voice-mail, just have it as your telephone number, OK? You got to do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right, bye.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

GRACE: Of course, we cannot independently confirm that`s Tiger Woods`s voice. Now, Ian Drew from "US Weekly" says they have investigated it exhaustively. They say it is him. Ian Drew, other than that message he allegedly left for yet another woman who`s come out of the woodwork, a cocktail waitress, I want to talk to you about the neighbors...

DREW: Yes.

GRACE: ... the neighbors of Tiger Woods, what they heard that evening. What have you learned?

DREW: Well, one thing that`s very interesting that I`ve just been champing (ph) here to bring up, is that Tiger has had sleeping problems. Several friends and neighbors say he doesn`t sleep. He`s up all night. And he`s admitted to several sources that he takes Ambien quite regularly, maybe hinting at...

GRACE: Ian, Ian, Ian!

DREW: Yes?

GRACE: Don`t care about Ambien!

DREW: No.

GRACE: What is your point, Ian Drew from "US Weekly"!

DREW: My point is exactly what I was saying. You were talking intoxication. You were talking about those things. Why wasn`t there a breathalyzer? Some people are pointing to that Ambien could have caused this because when you stay up on Ambien, it does have drug-like effects.

GRACE: Did neighbors hear shouting that evening?

DREW: They did. Yes, they did. That as well. We did speak to several neighbors who were sure there was some sort of altercation at the house that also preceded this.

GRACE: It`s my understanding -- let`s pull up that quote one more time. This is a quote from "US Weekly." "They were shouting. They didn`t care who heard. Everyone in the neighborhood was talking about how Elin beat his" -- Tiger Woods`s -- "A-S-S."

DREW: Exactly.

GRACE: Now, look, I don`t care if they fought all night. This is what I care about, Ian Drew.

DREW: Yes.

GRACE: If the neighbors heard them fighting, having a domestic argument, that means that the story they both told police was a lie. She said she heard the crash -- this is two houses down -- from inside her home and ran out handily carrying a wedge and beat the car in to save his life.

DREW: Yes. Yes.

GRACE: If that is a lie, then there`s a cover-up not just to the wife, but to police. If you did that or I did that, Ian Drew, we would be at police headquarters right now.

DREW: Well, of course. And sources are also saying that he`s lying not really to only help himself, but there`s a cover-up going on to protect his wife because she could be accused of causing this accident.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Tiger Woods is now apologizing for his transgressions.

"I have let my family down, and I regret those transgressions. With all of my heart, I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves."

Just hours ago, a tabloid released an urgent voicemail supposedly from Tiger to another woman warning her his wife may be calling.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hey, it`s Tiger. I need you to do me a huge favor. Can you pleas take your name off your phone? My wife went through my phone and may be calling you. If you can, please take your name off that. Just have it as a number on the voicemail. Just have it as your telephone number, that`s it, OK? You got to do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right, bye.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Let`s unleash the lawyers. We are taking your calls live. Susan Moss, family law attorney out of New York, Anne Bremner, high-profile lawyer out of the Seattle jurisdiction, Alan Ripka, defense attorney out of New York.

Sue Moss, weigh in.

SUSAN MOSS, FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY & CHILD ADVOCATE: I guess Tiger isn`t the only family member who knows how to swing a golf club. An d maybe we now know why. It looks like there really, possibly could be an issue of domestic violence here.

And domestic violence is unacceptable no matter what the circumstances. What bothers me most is this might be another domestic violence incidence sweep under the rug.

GRACE: Well, another issue is the possibility, which is disturbing to me, of a cover-up, not only an attempted cover-up to his wife. That cover- up didn`t work, if it`s even true. But, to police, Anne Bremner, I don`t care what you`ve got going on in your personal life, you don`t lie to police. You do not lie to police. The police down there don`t seem to mind.

ANNE BREMNER, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Well, you know, the police down there sure seem interested in coming back and coming back and coming back. And I`ve said it before and I`ll say it again. A closed mouth gathers no foot. He didn`t give a formal statement to them. And you know what? They`ve issued a ticket, they`ve issued a fine. He got a lawyer. The lawyer said, keep your mouth shut. That`s great advice he has. And it`s over.

GRACE: You`re right.

BREMNER: They`ve issued the fine so there`s nothing else to look at, Nancy. There`s nothing -- and they can`t say it`s a cover-up because they don`t know any real evidence to show...

GRACE: Well, I know this much...

BREMNER: Yes?

GRACE: I know this much, Anne Bremner.

BREMNER: What, Nancy Grace?

GRACE: That her story was that she heard the crash, albeit two houses away.

BREMNER: Yes.

GRACE: From inside her home and that she ran out with a golf club. OK.

BREMNER: You know what...

GRACE: Other reports are that she said she came out on a golf cart. That`s a big inconsistency if it`s true. But neighbors say they could hear the arguing just before the crash. And that means their story is not true, if the neighbors are not lying.

BREMNER: But then you look towards the underlying charge? Domestic violence. They can`t prove it. And you know what? They don`t have a cooperating victim. You know she`s got Tiger by the tail, so to speak. You know he`s saying my wife was courageous. She saved me from that vehicle. She came with the golf clubs. And who can disprove that? You know he`s put the lid on it. Even the name of his yacht is Privacy. He wants privacy. And he hasn`t succeeded in getting that. But he`s succeeded in having this closed, this matter.

GRACE: Alan Ripka -- Alan Ripka, what`s your take on it?

ALAN RIPKA, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: My take is that Tiger Woods has done nothing unlawful. And that`s why the police are not interested. He has a personal matter going on. The car accident did not involve anybody else or anybody else`s car. Therefore, the police have no business being involved nor does anybody else.

GRACE: I`ll tell you what, Alan Ripka?

RIPKA: Excuse me?

GRACE: If I were the cops and I thought that I had been lied to in an official police statement, which is a sworn statement if you look at the bottom of police report. That is not OK. I don`t care if you are Tiger Woods. And I`m a Woods fan.

RIPKA: We don`t know what the questions were. What did he lie about? About cracking his car on his own property? Is that what the lies about?

GRACE: He`s not on his own property, number one. And number two, if the story is false, this could be an alleged domestic incident.

RIPKA: There`s no charge of domestic violence.

GRACE: Yes, I know that!

RIPKA: Well, if there`s no charge, then there`s no crime. There`s no investigation.

GRACE: I`m going to remind you of that next time on your show when there is a charge and you still say there`s not a crime. You want your cake and you want to eat it, too, Ripka, but I mean, I can hear you. OK? You`re not making any sense.

RIPKA: If there`s no one -- if there`s no one alleging a crime, there`s no investigation. When someone...

GRACE: Alan, Alan, Alan. How many domestic violence victims have not wanted to go to court? A million.

Back to the lines. Susan in South Carolina, hi, Susan. Susan, are you with me? Hi, dear. Thank you. What`s your question, dear?

SUSAN, CALLER FROM SOUTH CAROLINA: I have a question, if he was found unconscious outside of his vehicle, why didn`t his wife ever called 911 and how did she know to arrive on the scene with a golf cart when she said in her report she ran outside on foot?

GRACE: It absolutely does not make any sense. I do have one answer. According to a neighbor, she called out to them to call 911, which is not nefarious, if in fact it`s true. But Ellie Jostad, how did she know to rush out of the house with a golf club, a wedge?

ELLIE JOSTAD, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER, COVERING STORY: Well, Nancy, there are conflicting reports out there. We haven`t been able to confirm that she did give conflicting stories or not. But there are reports -- that is there was no sign of a golf cart.

However, one of our affiliates down in Orlando has photos of the crash that clearly do show a golf cart nearby. So it still isn`t clear because this version of the police report that was released does not include any witness statements. So we still don`t know exactly what she said to police.

GRACE: Let`s see if you can pull up that photo of the crash with the golf cart there -- there beside it.

To Caryn Stark, psychologist, joining us out of New York. You know, earlier, we had a call from Jane in Florida, wanted to know why women date married men. If only knew the answer to that, I could solve a lot of problems.

CARYN STARK, PSYCHOLOGIST: Nancy, that`s wishful thinking. They date married men...

GRACE: Now why do men always cheat down? That`s another question I might as well throw at you.

STARK: What did you say? They cheat down?

GRACE: They cheat down. They cheat down. You know this wife -- there you go. There`s a shot of the golf cart right by the crash. I don`t know how you could miss that. Caryn.

STARK: Yes, Nancy.

GRACE: Elin Woods is no idiot. She has a set of parents, one`s a journalist, one sits on the Cabinet there in Sweden. She -- in fact, he pursued her. She didn`t want to date him. She didn`t want people to think she was a gold digger. She doesn`t need him, all right? And yet, all this has happened. And then these other women.

You know, back to Jane`s question. Why cheat with a married man?

STARK: Because the women believe that something will happen. They always have hope that this man might leave. And also if you take a look at this married man, this is a man who could give them a lot of gifts, who has a lot of celebrity. It`s very appealing, Nancy, to date Tiger Woods.

GRACE: Out to the lines, Lori in Utah. Hi, Lori.

LORI, CALLER FROM UTAH: Hi, Nancy. How are you?

GRACE: I`m good, dear.

LORI: Thank you for taking my call.

GRACE: Well, thank you for calling in.

LORI: I just have a question about the diagram showing earlier about the -- how he left his home and how he crashed. And it seems to me if someone were chasing you, you would pull out of your drive way, skooch around the corner and go straight as fast as you could.

But it kind of seems -- kind of fishy that he kind of swerved right and then he went left and through the fire hydrant and hit the tree. And I just -- you know, I agree with you that something just doesn`t seem quite right with that.

GRACE: Maybe he was swerving to avoid one of these? OK? Clark. Let`s go back to the diagram. Repeat. And a lot of people are e-mailing in, why didn`t the airbag go off and how fast do we think he was traveling? Clark, do we know?

CLARK GOLDBAND, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER, COVERING STORY: OK. Well, there are reports that he was traveling between 25 and 35 miles per hour, Nancy. Here`s what happened. Tiger Woods comes out of the driveway, hits that median right there and that`s not all green. That`s a concrete curb.

Drives over that, plows through some plants, then smashes off the first hedge. Then zigs all the way back left, mows through the fire hydrant. He`s still going and is backstopped by that tree. So also important, as we said earlier, road conditions clear as was the weather.

And Nancy, there was not a box checked if Woods was wearing his seatbelt, so it would appear he wasn`t.

GRACE: To Chris Garrett, crisis management expert. Chris, how did it spin so far out of control?

CHRIS GARRETT, CRISIS MANAGEMENT EXPERT, REPRESENTED MICHAEL VICK: Right. Well, I think this is a good case study, kind of generally speaking. It`s always better to get out in front of an issue to frame it your way before you get, sort of, the back and forth speculation, allegations that we`re hearing in the media, on the blogosphere now.

But I also think it`s been my experience dealing with these crisis situations, especially high profile individuals and celebrities, that they have to prioritize a host of factors in dealing with it. You have legal considerations, you have family and personal issues that you have to work through. So all that takes time. And that`s what`s brought us to this point today.

GRACE: I want to go to Dr. Titus Duncan. He is with the Atlanta Medical Center, an expert in his field. What do you make of the alleged injuries and why would Tiger Woods refuse to be seen in public? Even at his own golf tournament?

DR. TITUS DUNCAN, M.D., GENERAL SURGERY, ATLANTA MEDICAL CENTER: Well, there are a number of reasons. He basically only suffered minor injuries because he had bruises and cuts and things of that nature.

GRACE: Remember, at first they said it was serious injuries.

DUNCAN: No, they weren`t serious injuries. At that particular level of crash, he`s going to have to -- just minor injuries. They wanted to make sure he didn`t have any serious injuries, anything like any head injuries of that nature. And that`s why he went to the hospital, possibly to get a CT scan just to make sure that he had no brain injury.

GRACE: But the 911 caller said he was unconscious, Doctor. Unconscious.

DUNCAN: Right. And you can several levels of consciousness. When the people --when the guys come in and actually look at you, they can give you several levels of consciousness. All you have to do is have a verbal response, motor response and you can have a level of consciousness that they can call you unconscious. But then you can go right back out again.

So, again, anytime you have those levels of unconsciousness, you want to get the person to the hospital just to make sure that they don`t have anything going on in their brain, because any small amount of injury to the brain can cause some significant damage long term.

GRACE: Now we at HLN cannot confirm it`s Tiger Woods` voice. "Us Weekly" insists that they can. Let`s take a look at some of these alleged text messages.

What can you tell us about the text messages, Ian?

IAN DREW, SENIOR EDITOR, US WEEKLY, COVERING STORY: Well, all very salacious. All asking her to be naked, to take pictures of herself naked. There were 300 of them in all.

GRACE: What? Put him up, please.

DREW: Yes.

GRACE: "Go to the bathroom and take a picture." Ian, 300 what?

DREW: Three hundred text messages in all.

GRACE: From who to who?

DREW: From both of them, back and forth to each other, that she presented to us showing that he was asking her all the time to see her naked body, to take pictures. These were all very sexually charged text messages. They were called sex-text messages actually.

GRACE: You know, I -- I don`t get it. Of course, that has absolutely nothing to do with an alleged cover-up except that it could be the source of an explosive argument between the two and possible domestic violence.

Out to Bill Golodner, former NYPD, president of Kindershield Agency. Bill, thank you for being with us.

Bill, what do you make of it and what do you make of the police work on the case?

BILL GOLODNER, FORMER NYPD DETECTIVE, PRESIDENT OF KINDERSHIED AGENCY: Nancy, I want to say this. I`m not going to use the word cover-up, but I`ll say that it sure sounds to me like they extended a courtesy to Tiger Woods based on celebrity.

Now when they look at someone as a result of an auto accident, you may smell alcohol, which they may not have. His eyes could be watery. Things could -- he could had been walking a toxic gauge, he may be slipping and sliding. But how about controlled substance abuse? You may not see that so readily. And did they examine that?

Not only that, Nancy, but the police have an obligation to look and conduct a domestic violence investigation, even if there is no complainant. It`s that way in New York, it`s that way in Florida. They don`t need one a complainant to conduct an investigation on domestic violence.

Based on what was heard by neighbors, et cetera, they should have looked at that closely and found out what she was doing with that golf club.

GRACE: Well, I can tell you this much, Bill Golodner. If the roles were reversed and the man was suspected of going after the woman with a golf club...

GOLODNER: Thank you, Nancy.

GRACE: ... there would be an investigation.

GOLODNER: Not only would there be an investigation, but someone would be wearing handcuffs. They`d be on their way to the precinct for a booking and an arraignment. So we really have to look at this and find out what was actually going on here.

This sounds like there was some domestic violence at hand. It looks like it resulted -- these type of things going on with these cocktail waitresses and such. This is what chased him out of the house, no shoes, jumping into the car. Road conditions were clear, and dry and he goes flying across the road and then bouncing off flying of fire hydrants like a cue ball, landing against a tree.

This really requires an investigation that should have been conducted by the Florida State Police and it looked like they dropped the ball.

GRACE: Everybody, we are taking your calls live. But I want to switch gears immediately and tell you about a 21-year-old missing mom. Take a listen.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Law enforcement desperately searching for 21- year-old mom, Christina Whittaker, when she vanishes after hanging out with friends at a sports bar. Christina`s mom says she would never leave her 6- month-old baby daughter behind. Just how does a mom vanish after hanging out with friends?

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Christina`s mom says she has bipolar disorder and needs her medication.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Law enforcement expanding their search by land and water to reunite Christina with her beautiful 6-month-old daughter.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Straight out to Brent Engle with the "Hannibal Courier Post." Brent, what happened?

BRENT ENGLE, REPORTER, HANNIBAL COURIER POST: Well, Nancy, whether this was a kidnapping or disappearance by choice, Christina Whittaker, as you mentioned, is in grave peril tonight. Because this 21-year-old mother was taking medication for a bipolar disorder.

And her family has said that Whittaker has not filled that prescription since she disappeared from Hannibal, Missouri on November 13th. She also may be suffering from postpartum depression.

The farther the police in both Missouri and Illinois are treating the disappearance as a missing person`s case, but they have not ruled out foul play. And Nancy, there`s some startling and controversial developments tonight.

GRACE: Such as?

ENGLE: Such as the latest in this case is that there have been unconfirmed reports and sightings of Whittaker last Sunday morning at a cafe in Creve Coeur, Illinois, which is across the Illinois River from Peoria. It`s more than 150 miles from Hannibal, Missouri.

And a waitress there, at that cafe, said she was 110 percent sure that she waited on Whittaker, although her hair had been darkened from red to a dark brown or a black.

GRACE: To Rupa Mikkilineni, our producer on the story, is it true her cell phone was found discarded?

RUPA MIKKILINENI, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER: That`s right, Nancy. Her cell phone was found discarded about a block and a half away from the bar where she disappeared from in Hannibal, which is three hours away from the area they`re searching now.

And we understand that the cell phone was on a sidewalk, close to a hit and run accident. We say hit and run accident because a vehicle that was parked there was hit and run in the middle of the night. And this is where her cell phone was found along with, family and police say, a key chain and possibly a man`s hat. So these items are being tested by police.

GRACE: With me right now, Christina`s mother, Cindy Young.

Miss Young, where is the 6-month-old baby at night?

CINDY YOUNG, MISSING WOMAN, CHRISTINA WHITTAKER`S MOTHER: The baby is at home with her dad.

GRACE: Miss Young, has Christina ever disappeared before?

YOUNG: No, ma`am, never.

GRACE: What you tell me about her postpartum depression?

YOUNG: Well, it`s something -- she`s been on medication since she had the baby. Different types of medication for her bipolar. And I`ve always suspected she had postpartum depression even though it`s not been diagnosed. I looked it up online. And she has this psychic symptom personally describing Christina. He has symptom on there and she was not being treated for it.

GRACE: Everybody, Christina Whittaker is only 21 years old. She has a 6-month-old baby waiting for her to come home. And she desperately needs her medications. Tip line, 573-221-0987.

As we go break, we stop to remember South Carolina friend of the show, Doris Robinson, 82, lost her battle with Alzheimer`s. A bookkeeper, insurance agent, the only woman of her time to score 100 percent on an insurance exam. Also a class school pianist, she watched the show every day until she no longer could.

She leaves behind a son, two daughters, including daughter Kathy who is a big fan of the show. Three grandchildren, one great grandchild, 1- year-old, Abby.

Doris, you are missed.

Investigators continue to work the case.

GRACE: There is a reward tonight. Anne Bremner, in your experience, do rewards work?

BREMNER: Absolutely, Nancy. I think -- well, national attention like from your show, which everybody, of course, watches, helps a lot. And rewards help a lot. They get people to come out and give information and the higher the reward the better.

GRACE: Alan Ripka, rewards, do they work?

RIPKA: They work big time, Nancy. People are not going to run and pick up their phone and call the police or even follow somebody that they know they`ve seen on TV if there`s no reward.

GRACE: Susan?

MOSS: The bigger the better.

GRACE: And I want to go back to Cindy Young. This is Christina Whittaker`s mother. You stated that you firmly believe she is suffering from postpartum depression. What is your message to her tonight?

YOUNG: I guess, if anybody has her, you know, just, we don`t -- we`re not interested. I mean, they could have done something mean to her or whatever they`ve done to her, but we just want them to release her and send her home. And if she`s gone on her own, we love her unconditionally. No matter what. There`s nothing in this world that would make us not want to be with her and not want her home. We`ll get her help. Whatever needs to be done. We just want her back home.

GRACE: Leaving behind a 6-month-old baby waiting for mommy to come home. Here`s a shot of Christina Whittaker. Tip line, 573-221-0987.

Tonight, I want to share a letter I received from parents of fallen Marine, Staff Sergeant Marcus Golczynski. His stepfather and mother, Bob and Elaine, write, "Marcus was an extraordinary young man with a passion for life and friends. It prompted him to volunteer on a second mission to protect those younger, less experienced fellow Marines deployed to Iraq.

"He was a member of the I-24 Marine Reserve Division based out of Nashville, with 11 years experience. Ten days remaining in Iraq. We expected his safe return. The arrival of Marines in our doorstep. To announce his death was devastating and changed our lives forever. We wait for life to become normal again. It never will.

"Please accept our appreciation for the consideration and kind remarks given to our fallen hero. We are grateful. Sincerely, Bob and Elaine Huffiness."

Marcus Golczynski, 30, Louisville, Tennessee, an all-state wrestler, volunteered for a second tour. Aside from her stepfather, Bob and mother Elaine, leaves behind father Henry, brother John, son, Christian.

Marcus Golczynski, American hero. And our prayers to his family.

Thank you to our guests but especially to you for being with us. I`ll see you tomorrow night, 8:00 sharp, Eastern. And until then, good night, friend.
