A wonderfully diverse animal kingdom thrives beneath dense jungles and along large rivers fed by tropical monsoons.
Calls of owls pierce the jungle along the Menanggul River in extreme northeastern Borneo.
This is the only place in the world visitors can see endangered proboscis monkeys in their natural habitat.
The monkeys are named for the mature males' large noses.
