Plymouth

(CNN) -- With Thanksgiving upon the United States, it's time to journey back to the area which anchors much of the holiday's legend. In 1620, pilgrims from England landed their legendary ship, The Mayflower, near a hunk of stone about 40 miles south of what is now Boston. Travel to Plymouth, Massachusetts, and you'll see not only the Rock, but also Miles Standish, Tamworth hogs and house-raisings.

Come aboard and explore the history.
