'Travel & Leisure' readers choose Orlando Disney, Bangkok hotels as top values

ATLANTA (CNN) -- In a recent survey, Travel and Leisure magazine readers were asked to rank hotels and resorts in several different categories as the "World's Best Value"; the results indicate that value doesn't come cheap.
Of the ten worldwide "Best Hotels for Value" in the March edition of the magazine, only three are under $200 a night, with the least expensive being Quebec's Chateau Frontenac at $149. Two hotels are over $900 and the rest range between $250 - $350.
All the hotels on the best hotels for value list also rank high in other categories including: best value for less than $200 a night; best value for $200 - $300 a night; and best value for more than $300 a night.

The magazine's survey also includes rankings for world's best hotel value according to geographic region as well as the world's best values for island and city destinations.
Australian and New Zealand cities take the top four spots best value, but only two American cities make the list: San Antonio, Texas, and Charleston, South Carolina.
Wine Spectator ranks top Hawaiian restaurants
The March 31 edition of the Wine Spectator delves into Hawaiian restaurants and resorts, giving travelers tips on what to eat and where to stay when visiting the Pacific island state.
As part of its profile, the magazine ranks the top Hawaiian restaurants on a 100 point scale (weighting 40 percent for food, 30 percent for wine, and 15 percent each for service and ambience).
Of the nine restaurants recommended by the magazine, the lowest score given is 89.
Best Hawaiian Restaurants, according to Wine Spectator
1. Alan Wong's, Oahu - features new Hawaiian cuisine
Wine Spectator recommends "Da Bag," steamed manila clams around a mound of shredded kalua pig with mushrooms and spinach.
2. La Mer, Oahu - features Southern French cooking
"Transporting" is the word the magazine uses to describe the Strudel of Moana with Basil.
3. The Anuenue Room, Maui - Provencal dishes with Polynesian and Asian influences
The food is described as having "simple elegance" and the perfect complement to the 300-plus wine list.
4. The CanoeHouse, Hawaii - Eclectic menu and wine selection
The magazine notes menu items like Wasabi Lobster Tempura on a Stick and spicy popcorn shrimp nachos.
5. Ihilani, Lanai - Mediterranean French cuisine combined with Hawaiian offerings
Wine Spectator makes special mention of the way the wine list complements the menu.
The magazine also recommends two Maui restaurants, Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar, and Roy's Kahana Bar and Grill, as well as two Oahu restaurants, David Paul's Diamondhead Grill and Roy's Hawaii Kai.
