Pringles and sheep

I am now in Istanbul; nothing much happened on the leg through Hong Kong so forgive me for not blogging earlier in the week.

Coming through Heathrow (LHR) I was again struck by how many people were having toiletries, liquids and gels removed from their bags. I thought the new rules in the EU meant you could take through 100ml of these in bottles in clear plastic bags (someone must be making a fortune with all these clear plastic bags). I was wrong. The new rules only come into force on Monday.

Don’t ask me what the details of these new rules are – I am totally and utterly confused by now. The U.S. uses ounces, the EU uses milliliters - I have no idea what the position is trans-Pacific and every time I make any form of protest, the Transportation Security Administration or security staff look at me as if I am a weapon of mass destruction.

It is 5am and I am wide awake – reverse jet-lag – writing this, eating the chocolate figs and paprika Pringles in my room and wondering if I will make it to the gym. D’you think there is some giant Pringle factory that makes them, aiming to take over the world’s hotel rooms? They are everywhere!

Oh yes, before I go to the gym (I will make it there), I offer you a picture from New Zealand where I tried my hand at sheep shearing at the Agrodome. You can see the results on Business Traveller the weekend after this. The sheep won. Hence the gym.
