CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida (CNN) -- NASA reported no problems Sunday as the astronauts aboard space shuttle Columbia performed more science experiments on the third day of their 16-day mission. The seven astronauts are working in two around-the-clock shifts as the shuttle orbits 192 miles above the earth.
NASA said everything is going according to plan. But the astronauts did have one complaint. They said it was too cold last night, so mission control let them turn up the heat.
On Saturday, crewman Al Sacco mixed zeolite crystal solutions in orbit. Zeolite crystals are used in the chemical-processing industry to help break down crude oil to make gasoline. Thanks to weightlessness, crystals made in space are bigger and purer than those produced on earth.
The shuttle is scheduled to return to Earth at 6:45 a.m. EDT (1045 GMT) on November 5, six days before Atlantis takes off for the second shuttle rendezvous with the Russian space station Mir.
Atlantis was originally scheduled to launch November 1, but six delays in getting Columbia in orbit forced NASA to push back Atlantis' launch as well.
