The Ramsey Family
John Ramsey -- JonBenet's father; former president of Access Graphics, a computer services firm, one of Boulder's largest companies. Ramsey found JonBenet's body in a basement of his 15-room mansion. After JonBenet's death, Ramsey lost his job at Access Graphics and moved to an Atlanta suburb where he works as a consultant. He remains a suspect in the case.
Patricia Ramsey -- JonBenet's mother and John Ramsey's wife. Crowned Miss West Virginia in 1977, Patricia Ramsey escorted her daughter to numerous beauty pageants and funded scholarships for the contests. Ms. Ramsey remains a suspect in the case. Police have taken several samples of her handwriting and have not ruled her out as a possible author of the ransom note. Burke Ramsey -- John and Patricia Ramsey's first child and JonBenet's older brother. Elizabeth Ramsey -- John Ramsey's daughter from his first marriage who died in a car accident in 1992. John Andrew Ramsey -- John Ramsey's son from his first marriage. He has been cleared as a supect in the case. Lucinda Ramsey Johnson -- John Ramsey's first wife. Melinda Ramsey -- John Ramsey's adult daughter from his first marriage. She has been cleared as a suspect in the case. Don and Nedra Paugh -- Patricia Ramsey's parents, who live in Georgia. Boulder OfficialsLinda Arndt -- Police detective at the Ramsey crime scene, who has been accused of making critical mistakes in the hours after the murder, such as allowing John Ramsey to search his house without a police escort and giving the Ramseys a photocopy of the ransom note. Leslie Aaholm -- Boulder police spokeswoman.
Mark Beckner -- Boulder police commander who replaced John Eller in October as head of the Ramsey investigation. The change announced in October came amid criticism that Eller was not doing enough to advance the probe. Leslie Durgin -- Boulder mayor. In January, Durgin took issue with a statement from Patricia Ramsey that a killer was on the loose in Boulder. The murder was probably not a random act, she said, since the killer appeared to be someone who knew the Ramsey home well. John Eller -- Former lead detective on the case, who was. replaced by Mark Beckner in October 1997. He later announced his resignation from the Boulder Police force. George Epp -- The Boulder County sheriff who handled the investigation into the release of crime scene photos to a tabloid newspaper. His investigation resulted in arrest of a former sheriff's deputy and a photo lab employee. Epp is not directly involved in the Ramsey investigation. Peter Hofstrom -- Chief trial deputy for Boulder district attorney's office and the prosecutor's liaison with Ramsey family.
Alex Hunter -- Boulder County District Attorney
Thomas Koby -- Boulder police chief who is in charge of the murder investigation. Having failed to secure an arrest in the investigation, Koby has announced plans to retire from the Boulder Police Department. Kelvin McNeill -- Boulder city spokesman John Meyer -- Boulder county coroner who attempted to block the release of autopsy results to the public and who expressed anger over the publication of crime scene photos by the Globe, a supermarket tabloid. Henry Lee -- A well-known forensic expert put on the special prosecution task force to help Colorado authorities solve the Ramsey murder. Director of the Connecticut State Police Forensic Science Laboratory and a key player in O.J. Simpson's criminal defense, Lee also did forensic work in the aftermath of the 1993 federal raid of the Branch Davidian compound outside Waco, Texas.
Barry Scheck -- A New York lawyer who specializes in the use of DNA in legal proceedings and a member of the special prosecution task force investigating the death of JonBenet. Scheck was a member of O.J. Simpson's criminal defense team and also defended Louise Woodward against charges she caused the death of an infant in her care. Ramsey Legal Team- The following are present or former representatives of John and Patricia Ramsey.Patrick J. Burke -- Boulder attorney representing Patricia Ramsey. Mike Bynum -- An attorney on the Ramseys' legal team who formerly worked for Boulder District Attorney Alex Hunter. John Douglas -- A former FBI profiler and the Ramseys' private investigator in the case. After a preliminary investigation, Douglas proclaimed the Ramseys' innocence, suggesting that JonBenet's killer was someone who knew John Ramsey through his work. A 25-year FBI veteran, Douglas profiled the Unabomber suspect and was the inspiration for agent Jack Crawford in "The Silence of the Lambs." Patrick Furman -- A University of Colorado criminal law professor reportedly hired to represent Patricia Ramsey. He is said to be working with her other attorney, Patrick Burke.
Hal Haddon -- Leader of John Ramsey's legal team Bryan Morgan -- Ramsey family attorney and a well-known Denver criminal defense attorney OthersDr. Francesco Beuf -- JonBenet's Boulder pediatrician for last three years of her life. He has said he saw no evidence of abuse of JonBenet before the murder. Jay Elowsky -- A Ramsey family friend who was charged with a misdemeanor for threatening two men with a baseball bat. He thought the men were reporters. Chuck Green -- A columnist for the Denver Post and a critic of the Ramsey investigation.
Darnay Hoffman -- A New York lawyer who filed suit in Colorado in November to try to compel District Attorney Alex Hunter to prosecute Patricia Ramsey based on her handwriting samples. Fleet White Jr. -- Ramsey family friend who was with John Ramsey when he found his daughter's body. Police have said that White and his wife Priscilla are not suspects.
