Don't believe in aliens? Visit San Francisco's UFO 'Museum'

SAN FRANCISCO (CNN) -- Erik Beckjord has no use for skeptics. As the owner of San Francisco's UFO Museum, why should he?

Faces on Mars, the Loch Ness monster, or an alien with a name tag (Andy) -- if it's far-fetched and unproved, Beckjord buys it. And it's all on display at his storefront "museum."

"We had a big party with belly dancers, and a UFO showed up," he says, without a hint of irony. "It stayed three hours and kept asking to plug into the wall. They were cheap aliens. They didn't want to pay for their own juice."

store front

Right. Not everyone who stops into the UFO Museum is as believing as Beckjord.

But it doesn't bother him that some may remain unconvinced, as one of his exhibits suggests, that the face of an alien can be found in the Hale-Bopp comet.

"With the card-carrying skeptics, we will never win," says Beckjord, who claims he saw Bigfoot crossing a city street.

Beckjord has little hard evidence to support his sightings, but does claim to have public opinion on his side.

"There are more people who have seen UFOs than voted for President Clinton," he maintains.
