Sri Lankan police commando killed by suicide bomber

Web posted at: 2:30 p.m. EST (1930 GMT)COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (CNN) -- A Tamil Tiger suicide bomber riding a motorcycle rammed a vehicle carrying a senior Sri Lankan police commando Tuesday, police said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Upali Sahabandu died in the attack, and his driver was wounded. The attacker also died.
The Tamil Tigers have been fighting for an independent homeland in parts of Sri Lanka for 14 years.
