SAN`A, Yemen (CNN) -- An irate father opened fire at two high schools in the Yemeni capital of San`a on Sunday, killing at least eight people, including six children.

The gunman, identified as Hassan Ali al-Baadani, went from room to room firing at hundreds of students at the Al-Tallai private high school and a neighboring school. Among the dead were the headmistress of Al-Tallai, a cafeteria worker and the six children.

An Interior Ministry statement said 11 pupils from the two schools and three other people were wounded. Witnesses said al-Baadani, whose two daughters attend Al-Tallai, was apparently distraught at unspecified "indiscretions" by his teen-age daughters.
