32 Senate seats
This year, 32 senators will be elected. They serve six-year
terms gained through proportional representation. Each of the
31 states and the Mexico City Federal District has four
senators.
The PRI holds 94 seats in the Senate, the PAN has 24 and the
PRD has seven; two are held by independents, and one is vacant.
The PRI is not in danger of losing its majority in the
Senate.
