NEW DELHI, India (Reuters) -- Following are the latest trends in counting and results of India's general elections -- at 1:45 p.m. (0815 GMT) in 534 seats -- to the 545-member lower house of parliament (Lok Sabha).

Seats won in the parliamentary races decided so far:

Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies: 251
Congress Party and its allies: 166
United Front: 96
Independents and others: 21
Total 534

Elections for 537 of the 543 parliamentary seats at stake in the poll ended on Saturday after a staggered process that began on February 16. Counting of votes from two constituencies in the Himalayan state of Jammu and Kashmir will begin on March 9.

The six remaining constituencies will have completed voting by June 21.

The two other seats in the lower house will be nominated by President K.R. Narayanan.
