October 9, 1995 -- Holdups, new attacks snag cease-fire
An anticipated cease-fire is delayed after Bosnian Serbs fail
to restore utilities to the besieged capital of Sarajevo. The day before, attacks on civilians severely strained
relations between the factions. A bomb exploded in a Muslim
refugee camp south of Tuzla, killing 10 people and wounding
more than 30. In central Bosnia, a bomb killed two children
and injured more than 40 (153K AIFF sound or 153K WAV sound). NATO
warplanes strike Serb positions in response.
