WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A U.S. soldier was killed and another injured in a vehicle accident in Bosnia about 9:30 p.m. Friday (local time).

U.S. Army officials said that Pfc. Floyd E. Bright, 19, of Houston, Texas, was killed in the accident. He was a passenger in the truck driven by Pvt. Joseph E. Dory, 22, of Edwards, Colorado. Dory was listed in good condition at a Mobile Army Surgical Unit at Camp Bedrock near Donja Visca. He suffered a broken shoulder blade in the accident.

The accident occurred when the soldiers were trying to pass over a temporary military bridge in "dark, muddy, slippery" conditions, according to U.S. Army spokesman Lt. Col. Ray Whitehead. They were traveling in a 10-ton truck.

Both soldiers were assigned to the Army's Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Batallion, 68th Armor, 1st Armored Division.

An investigation will be conducted to learn more about the conditions of the accident.

This is the second U.S. soldier killed in Bosnia since the NATO Implementation Force (IFOR) began operations there in December. The other, an Army sergeant, was killed while apparently trying to disarm a landmine.
