Denver Zoo's $14 million Primate Panorama opens today. It
will house 200 animals on seven acres.
The 61-nation Conference on Disarmament is meeting to
consider a draft treaty for a global ban on nuclear weapons
tests in Geneva. Chinese negotiators have said that China
will observe a moratorium on testing, starting today.

Wednesday, July 31, is the deadline for U.S. and Japanese
negotiators to reach agreement on semiconductor and
insurance issues.
On Thursday, August 1, Secretary of State Warren
Christopher will testify before the Senate Foreign Relations
Committee hearing on U.S. international policy.
On Saturday, August 3, Bob Bell, who played Bozo the Clown on
WGN-TV from 1959-1984, will be inducted into the clown hall
of fame.
On Sunday August 4, the Centennial Summer Olympics in Atlanta

In 1864, during the Civil War, Union forces tried to take
Petersburg, Va., by exploding a mine under Confederate

Olympic Centennial Park after a bomb exploded there last
weekend killing one and injuring more than 100. The 21-acre
downtown park will reopen Tuesday morning and once again will
be the center-point for Olympic visitors. For people who will
