In 1759, Russians under Saltikov defeated the Prussians at
Kay, eastern Germany, in the Seven Years' War; 6,000 Prussians were
killed.
In 1785, King Frederick II of Prussia formed Die Furstenbund
(League of Princes) to curb the ambitions in Germany of Emperor Joseph
II.
In 1840, the Union Act was passed by the British Parliament,
