Why should the ICC get involved in the issues of war crimes in Sudan???

After all-– they are controlled by interest from the west and a partial and biased organization with an agenda to persecute those of the Islamic faith !!!!!!!!!

After all, it doesn't matter that they arrested and procescuted Slobodan Milosevic for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide against the Muslims of Bosnia !!!!

Nor does it matter that they have arrested and are prosecuting Radovan Karadic for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide against the Muslims of Bosnia !!!!

Neither is it important that they have issued arrest warrants for Radko Mladic charging him with war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide against the Muslims of Bosnia !!!!

The only thing that seems to matter in the eyes of the Arab League and Omar al-Bashir, by the statements made on the floor of the 21st annual Arab League summit, is that the ICC is an illegitimate and biased organization because they have so far failed to pursue any charges against any Israelis !!!!!! What joke !!!!! And they continue to turn a death ear to the ICC chief prosecutor -– who has repeatedly explained that the ICC has no jurisdiction in the Israel or the Palestinian territories unless a case is referred to him by the UN Security Council!!

So far in the entire existence of the ICC-– everyone tried or being tried is for crimes committed against Muslims!!!!!!!

But-- the ICC is a pro-western biased illegitimate organization!!!!!!

Give me a break!

World traveler   March 30th, 2009 9:31 pm ET

Sudan’s Omar al-Bashir’s is a murderer and should be tried for his crimes. Unfortunately he is a Muslim, and as every one knows if a Muslim kills another Muslim no one cares. But if Israel, while defending itself, kill Muslims, they all cry for justice or revenge.

Barry   March 31st, 2009 6:28 am ET

Some people don't want the truth of Darfur known. Over 300,000 people have been killed and raped by Arab/Muslim militias. The Sudanese war criminal is one who is responsible. He is just Pol Pot with a Koran. Now, he is setting up millions more to die as he has kicked out international aid organizations. He wants to complete his Muslim backed genocide. This is just Islamic terrorism on a much bigger scale. The backing by Muslim governments is predictable. It's just one group of despots supporting another of their kind. They don't value life or law.

Why does the world sit back and watch Arabs and Muslims commit genocide? Do these people being raped and killed have no value? How can people that honor life and creation stay silent?

Professor   March 31st, 2009 8:38 am ET

Carlos,

A day will come when we see the Israel war criminals facing trials at the ICC for their crimes against humanity against Muslim and Christian Palestinians.

Professor   March 31st, 2009 8:45 am ET

Carlos,

Hate is blinding you that much?.... Racism and bigotry is eating you alive to see war criminals facing trials for their crimes against Bosnian muslims?

A bosnian Muslim life worth less than an Israeli Jew in your opinion? Is this what it boils down to? Or is it Muslims' life in general worth less than jews? What is it exactly you are trying to tell us?

dan perman   March 31st, 2009 11:15 am ET

this is about sudan and darfur

but the smartass professor mixes in the palestinians and israel as usual, nothing else exists for him except HATE HATE HATE against anything jewish

how blind can you get?

miriam   March 31st, 2009 12:50 pm ET

Prof,

It's clear what Carlos is saying.

The problem is your pre-occupation with Jews and the collective Jew, Israel.

It's time you take a look at the real people committing deliberate crimes against humanity, who do not try to minimize casualties and do not investigate all accusations.

Carlos   March 31st, 2009 1:46 pm ET

professor,

You just don't get it do you !!!!!!

I am totally in favor of the current an past prosecutions by the ICC !!!!!!

What don't you understand ????? Are they not acceptable to you ????

I've been quite clear to you and your buddies here on this blog --– The rule of law applies to EVERYONE--–EQUALLY !

The rule of law and justice should be blind to race and religion !!!!!!

What don't you get??????

Obviously you didn't hear or see the rantings from al-Bashir and others from the Arab League denouncing the ICC as being biased and lacking in authority!

You just really hate it that I can actually say and believe that the rule of law applies to everyone-- it must just eat you up!!!!!!

Get over it-– we all know you fail to believe in the equality of justice!

Do you believe that the State of Israel has the right to exist ????

If not-- feel free to return to your homeland in Albania! They will welcome you there !!!!

Carlos   March 31st, 2009 1:50 pm ET

Professor March 31st, 2009 845 GMT

What is it exactly you are trying to tell us?

**************************************************

professor,

Your lack of comprehension is simply amazing !!!!! You appear to be the only one confused by what I have said.

Maybe it's because English is not your mother tongue!

Do I need to dumb it down for you???

Carlos   March 31st, 2009 1:57 pm ET

Professor,

Hate is blinding you that much?…. to see war criminals facing trials for their crimes against Bosnian Muslims?

A Jewish life is worth less than an Bosnian Muslim in your opinion? Is this what it boils down to? Or is it Jewish life in general worth less than Muslims? What is it exactly you are trying to tell us?

Albania is waiting !!!!

The Mexicanos and the Native Americans are also waiting for you to pack up and leave-– end the occupation!!!!

Professor   March 31st, 2009 10:16 pm ET

The rule of law applies to EVERYONE... so when I see the Israeli war criminal serving time in prison then I will have more time on my hands to worry about other war criminal... and there are plenty of them... but my focus right now are the dirty ones... :)

FYI... I only carry one passport unlike people like you who have dual citizenships. I do not have any roots in Albania as your most recent lie claim. So, get a life and stop whining about something that you do not know anything about and its not your f- business to begin with.

Debs2   April 1st, 2009 4:00 am ET

Please. Lets reserve this for Sudan/Darfur issue.

Dan and everyone, hello. apologies for on blog for a while.

Although Palestine/Israel tensions are still ongoing I am glad to see Sudan given some thread on here.

Omar al Bashir is a war criminal and should be tried and punished according to and WITHIN INTERNATIONAL LAW. The people of Darfur have been systematically brutalised and ethnically cleansed. Just as the Nazi's did to Catholics, Disabled, Polish, Intelects and Jews in the second world war.

It seems that Africa is largely ignored when it comes to investment etc.... I wonder why? No Oil? No resources? I dont think so. If there was more investment in Africa, the resouces that are there would be the starting point for a new Africa. One that should have been a long time ago. The problem though is the age old problem of lack of unity and ethnic differences.

Sudan is just one of many of Africa's troubled states, Albeit all of Africa is not bad. There are so many problems from money to health that plague this beatiful land. So, for once thank you CNN for bringing Africa into this blog.

Salam and Shalo to all

Darfur is the real genocide at this time. We all know it, as adults. How ugly is that? I can't even imagine such people. Thankfully.

Carlos   April 1st, 2009 1:17 pm ET

Professor,

You made the claim ! If it's not true, you should not have made it. If you don't want people on the blog to speak about it you should not have said it!!!

Here I'll remind you again of your roots in Eastern Europe--

Professor March 16th, 2009 1049 GMT
Hey Carlos,

you can add to that to the list of languages…. would you like me to show you more of my knowledge of languages and PCs?

Debs2,

If your speaking of my posts to professor-- he failed in every possible way to earn any respect! He fails to respect the rule of law, Israel or anyone with an objective view. He is constantly misrepresenting himself in an effort to show self importance.

I, as well as several others, have repeatedly asked him if he believes that the State of Israel has the right to exist. He has never responded to the question-never. He simply ignores such a simple yes or no question.

Sorry- but there is no "full situation" there with respect to professor. His position is quite clear

regular american   April 1st, 2009 7:46 pm ET

If there is anyone to bring to courts, it should be Olmert and his killing machine. To be more precise, all israelis should be brought to the criminal court.
In Darfur, there is a civil war; people die from both sides. We always tend to punish the side in power and forget the other one that is backed up by the west.

Another thing: It is wrong to compare sudan with israel. In Sudan, two sudanese parties fight to gain political power; in Israel, there is a population that came from different parts of the world for no obvious reason; expelled the inhabitants and occupied the land by force with the bias of imperialist forces.
You see , no points of similarity.

Your credibility is below zero. You have been caught lying so many times I'm surprised that you keep coming back. You don't have to be taken out of context to be caught lying. You are just an evil Islamic terrorist supporter who has no respect for the law or for truth.

Professor   April 2nd, 2009 8:40 am ET

Carlos,

Do you understand anything from these quotes "you are going to accuse me of being half Arab and half Albanian"
"Here is a solution for you… I am just trying to help you here..."?

Bill,

Your assessment of my credibility is a medal I will wear with pride since its coming from someone who has no credibility whatsoever.

You have shown in all your comments how racist bigot you are.

regular american   April 2nd, 2009 1:26 pm ET

Albashir is one of the few Arab presidents who have kept their honor above tight political considerations; i would also add bashar alassad.
The other s like mubarak are servants of the imperialist regimes that protect blindly israel in order to rule for an undetermined period of time. In order to be a friend of the west, you need to normalize relations with israel because this latter controls the decision-making centers, the main media outlets, and the financial sectors of all the major international key players.

GLeigh   April 2nd, 2009 2:47 pm ET

Hundreds of thousands have been slaughtered in Darfur. Teens in the U.S. sometimes wear tee-shirts stating, "Stop the Genocide." There are blood spots (with ink) on them. I don't know a lot about this part of the world. I do hate violent people, and I don't hate often. So, I hope the world leaders are kind. We need good leaders. I really don't understand why the west or any other part of the world gets blamed for this area. I guess that is easy. Well, no more. Let people start figuring out kindness for themselves, or kill each other. It is a choice.

GLeigh   April 2nd, 2009 2:51 pm ET

Israel is good scapegoat. But, not really. In the end, the world will let everyone figure it out I think. I think most are tired of the scapegoats of the world. It's too easy to blame others and not clean our own house, from personal experience. So who is loving and who is hating and who is kind and who blows up people. Simple questions.

What I and others fully understand is that you fail to tell the truth about anything. Then when called on it-– claim you never said it-– or simply fail to respond-–or answer the question with another question in an attempt to deflect or change the subject- or attack those who call you on it because have no viable or credible answer!

It's as simple as the answer to a yes or no question!!!!!!!

Like--– Do you believe that the State of Israel has the right to exist??

Or do you not have the ability to answer an yes or no question???

regular american,

What human rights commissioner???

If he or anyone said that, then you bought into hook, line and sinker! 30% of Gaza is uninhabited arable farmland. If UNRWA or the ICRC cared at all about the welfare of the civilian population of Gaza-– they would have provided for them to be evacuated out of the urban areas and into the uninhabited farmland! The UNHRC does this regularly and knows exactly what is involved-- they have the resources and the means to do this-– they do it all the time in areas of conflict in Africa!!!! But no--- they refused to provide for this-- either by choice or by instructions from Hamas- they insisted the civilian population remain in the Urban areas!

So-- go drink more of the Hamas kool aid there regular american!!!!

Regular American – What area in America? Not mine. Ghaza. Interesting. They hide soldiers, missiles, and bombs among populated, urban areas and then shoot at Israel. Yet not word of fuss at Ghaza? Why not? They are perfect? Forget the concrete arches over the elementary schools in Israel and playgrounds underground – forget Israel with its Jews doesn't exist. Why no fuss at people in Ghaza for being violent? Anywhere? We all know about terrorists, extremists, whatever you name them. They are in the most oil rich part of the world, yet, Europe sends oil. Why? No one will hire them to work. Why? I am full of those. Now if China was near oil, the machines would be going night and day.

Perhaps the question is – why wants to work and who doesn't. Herding farm animals will no long feed the billions on Planet Earth. Billions. Too many people, but we still produce them.

regular american   April 2nd, 2009 7:01 pm ET

nobody helps them because all the surrounding regimes are reactionary. Another thing: you don't have to worry about them; just leave them alone and give them the lands you stole from them.
Israel is a terrorist "state" because it relies on collective punishment by putting everybody in danger and by using excessive force in return of sporadic missile launching, which is itself a response to closing passages, regular invasions , systematic jailings, ect.......the occupation classic.
we cannot blame the oppressed for fighting back; keep this in mind before blaming hamas for taking ONE soldier. May be the guy is more important than the 11 000 palestinians who are jailed in the zionist prisons.

GLeigh   April 2nd, 2009 7:11 pm ET

Regular – I have to go. The Masters is soon here and lots of company. Hubby loves golf. Israel is a country. The Arabs lost in WWI and the there was the British Mandate. After WWII, the U.N., many countries returned Israel back to its land. I read of it back in the Roman Empire days two thousand years ago. Israel was attacked in 1967, again, and won. Israel wanted to make Jerusalem for relgions, Jewish, Christian, and Muslim. That was rejected. The borders were closed around ten years ago because of violence. Schools have concrete arches in southern Israel. Playgrounds are underground. Excessive force? They were fired at for eight years, 11,000 plus missiles. I hate prisons too, but if you have fanatics who shoot at you, what do you do with them? Shooting back seems to have gotten Israel in trouble because the fanatics hid their missiles in the urban areas.

Occupation. I don't call residing in my own country occupation. I do call hatred and violence destructive. I hope the borders are opened, but the bad stuff has to stop first I would think. That's up to people there. I know that everyone is teaching their children love and kindness and respect for all other people and countires (religions do that) so hopefully the world will get better in time.

As I've said before, "regular american" is not a regular American. I don't know of any area in this country that supports Islamic terrorism. Maybe he should change his name to "Islamic terrorist supporter". Then all real Americans can rightly disclaim him.

April 4, 2009, 3:10 PM (GMT+02:00)

A Palestinian woman was shot dead after opening fire on an Israeli border police station at Shoket junction near the southern town of Beersheba Saturday noon, April 4. The officers fired back before any were hit. Her body was examined for explosives. Police forces combed the area to discover her identity and the accomplice who drove her to target, possibly from the West Bank to the north of Beersheba.

Earlier Saturday, a Golani squad fired at armed Palestinians approaching the northern Gaza border fence near Kfar Azza. The Israeli force gave chase and hit two of the gunmen, killing both according to Palestinian sources. They carried a roadside bomb ready to plant in the path of an Israeli border patrol.

Debs2   April 6th, 2009 4:58 am ET

Why is nobody discussing Sudan/Darfur????!!!!!

This thread is supposed to be about just that. There are other threads on here where Palestine can be talked about.

PS Can anyone give a possible solution for Darfur, as I think GLeigh already pointed out that it too is a genocide...
