I don't know about you, @beaujam90 but I am actually an Ashkenazi Jew. If you studied the Jewish bible at all you would know that the Jewish people and the Palestinians shared the first forefather(Abraham). Abraham had 2 sons, Ishmael and Isaac. Ishmael is the father of the Palestinians and Isaac is the father of the Jewish people. Isaac later on had 2 sons, Jacob and Esav. Esav strayed from Judaism and Jacob fathered the 12 tribes of Israel. Ashkenazi Jews are descendants of Jacob but were expelled from Israel thousands of years ago. In order to be Jewish you have to be a descendant of one of the 12 tribes or a convert. It has nothing to do with belief. If your mother is Jewish, according to Judaism, you are considered Jewish whether you believe in it or not.

The Jewish people fought for the state of Israel and won it so legally it belongs to them. As far as peace goes, you don't hear of Israelis going into Arab villages and bombing buses, murdering innocent families or raping and stabbing innocent women.

Statistics show that the average ratio of civilian casualties to combatants in conflicts around the world is 10:1.
In Gaza the ratio was 1:3.
Even if you take the highly inflated casualty figures reported by the media and NGOs and more recently denied by Hamas itself, the ratio is 3:2.

Which ever way you look at it, Israel manages to keep civilian casualties as minimal as possible and certainly does a better job than others.
