Bionic eye
Researchers led by Dr John Pezaris at Harvard Medical School are working on building a bionic eye. They have successfully implanted electrodes in monkeys that stimulate the parts of the brain that process visual information. The researchers hope eventually to restore the vision of people with conditions like glaucoma.
