Bionic brain
Professor Ted Berger at the University of Southern California works on getting silicon chips to talk to brain cells. He believes the technology has the potential to repair brains damaged by Alzheimer's or head injuries, and has said that prosthetic chips could replace lost memory function in the brain within 15 years. The chips translate brain impulses into code that can be read by computers, and vice versa.
