Bionic lung
Doctors at the University of Michigan have developed an implantable artificial lung, called the MC3 BioLung, which harnesses the heart's own pumping power and tiny fibers to oxygenate blood. The lung is intended for temporary use. Seven-day tests have been successful and 30-day trials are now planned.
