Presents: A Flyboy's Story (working title)
He has called it the most important day of his
life: Sept. 2, 1944. On a bombing run over the tiny Japanese island of Chi
Chi Jima,
20-year-old Navy pilot George Herbert Walker Bush was shot down and left adrift
for hours
in the Pacific Ocean. Floating in a small life raft, he was nearly
captured by a Japanese force before being rescued by a U.S. submarine.
Now, Bush, the nation’s 41st president returns for the first
time to where he says “a little kid was made into a man.” In "A
Flyboy's Story" (working title), CNN’s Paula Zahn gets exclusive
access to him, traveling with him to hear his stories of war, explore
his personal and professional
reconciliations and see how his experience as ensign influenced
him as commander in chief.

Presents: Fit to Kill
After killing in combat, what happens to the men who pulled
the triggers? The question is rarely asked because the answers
are
hard to reconcile. But as Operation Iraqi Freedom demonstrated,
even modern war requires traditional ground combat where the
killing is up close and personal. CNN Presents: Fit
to Kill investigates how soldiers are trained to kill, what they experience
while doing it and how some soldiers’ lives are changed
forever.
