Addison, Texas: This Texan town of about 16,000 takes its fireworks seriously. The aptly named Kaboom Town! show happens on Wednesday, July 3. Be sure to arrive earlier in order to catch the 7:15 p.m. air show.

Boston: The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular is another July Fourth heavy-hitter. Queen Latifah and Arlo Guthrie are among the concert headliners for 2019, followed by a military fighter jet flyover. The crowning glory is the nearly half-hour fireworks spectacle accompanied by the Boston Pops Orchestra.

San Diego: San Diego's Big Bay Boom is heralded as the largest fireworks show in Southern California. Four barges ensure that you'll get stellar views from Shelter Island all the way to Embarcadero Marina Park South. It starts 9 p.m. local time.
