Terror arrest on Eurostar
LONDON, England -- British police have arrested a 25-year-old North African man under terror legislation after he arrived in London on a train from France.
The man was seized at Waterloo Station at lunchtime on Thursday as he stepped off a Eurostar from Paris, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
He was being held on Tuesday at a central London police station under the Terrorism Act 2000, CNN has confirmed.
The arrest was the latest in a series of swoops against terror suspects across Britain from London to Scotland.
Anti-terrorist police have arrested over 300 people since the September 11 attacks on the United States in 2001, although the vast majority of suspects have later been released or charged with lesser offences.
