Loeb wins struggle with Gronholm
KEMER, Turkey -- French Citroen driver Sebastien Loeb won the Rally of Turkey, the seventh round of the world championship, ahead of Finland's Marcus Gronholm.
Loeb won by 26.2 seconds from the Peugeot driver with Norway's reigning world champion Petter Solberg third at 36.7 seconds in a Subaru.
The Frenchman holds his lead in the overall world championship standings after a battle with Gronholm throughout the three-day race.
The Finn had been 25.9 seconds behind overnight and, despite suffering from stomach problems on the final day, pushed his Peugeot 307 to its maximum over the remaining four specials, clawing back 5.9 seconds by winning the SS14.
Solberg, who dominated the final day, shared the SS15 with Loeb, and won the remaining two stages.
