Far-right party comes third in Netherlands, poll predicts

The far-right anti-immigration, anti-Muslim Freedom Party of Geert Wilders beat expectations, coming in third in parliamentary elections in the Netherlands on Wednesday, according to exit polls.

They're set to go from nine seats in parliament to 23, the Synovate projection predicts.

The center-right Liberal Party and center-left Labor Party are predicted to end tied with 31 seats each, while outgoing Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende's Christian Democrats are expected to drop to fourth place, losing 20 of their 41 seats.
