Three people, including off-road racing champion Rick Huseman, were killed Sunday afternoon in a plane crash in California.
CNN affiliate KCAL reports that a small plane, enroute from Las Vegas to Corona, California, crashed while trying to make an emergency landing near the Barstow-Daggett Airport.
Huseman, along with his brother Jeff, were killed along another passenger on the plane.
Huseman, 38, received the "Driver of the Year" award in 2010.
Huseman's death was the second of two that shocked the motorsport world Sunday.
Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon died Sunday from a multi-car wreck at the Las Vegas Indy 300.
