- Israel says airstrikes targeted "terrorist squads" in Gaza
- Islamic Jihad said it was confronting incursion
Islamic Jihad said one of its members was killed and five others wounded in two Israel airstrikes in Gaza on Wednesday morning.
A posting on the group's website said its fighters were confronting an Israeli incursion east of Gaza City when one of the airstrikes was conducted.
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said it had targeted two "terrorist squads" preparing to launch rockets at Israeli soldiers from two locations.
"Successful hits were identified, preventing the rocket launches," IDF said in a statement.
