(CNN) -- World No. 5 Robin Soderling has claimed his fourth tennis title of 2011, winning his home Swedish Open for the second time in three years.
Soderling, runner-up in the clay tournament last year, defeated sixth-ranked second seed David Ferrer 6-2 6-2 in Sunday's rain-delayed final in Bastad.
The 26-year-old lost just 13 games in four matches this week as he ended Ferrer's hopes of a 12th career title by earning his 10th.
"It has been a dream week," he told the ATP Tour website. "I feel really good. Now finally, my body feels good. I struggled a little bit with some injuries the past couple of months.
"My confidence is really good. I am going to work hard now and hopefully I can do well in the (United) States."
Soderling had gone into the tournament after losing in the third round at Wimbledon, where he was beaten by Australian teenager Bernard Tomic.
Ferrer reached the last 16 on grass in London before helping Spain reach the semifinals of the Davis Cup, beating the U.S.
His compatriot Juan Carlos Ferrero was more successful in Germany, where the former world No. 1 won his first title this year after beating fellow Spaniard Pablo Andujar 6-4 6-0 in the final of the Mercedes Cup.
The 31-year-old, now ranked 85th, claimed his 15th career crown as he denied No. 55 Andujar his second.
Their compatriot Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez won her first WTA Tour title this year and fourth overall as she triumphed in the Gastein Ladies event in Austria.
The 28-year-old, playing her first final since winning in Rome in May 2010, beat home hope Patricia Mayr-Achleitner 6-0 7-5 on Sunday.
Mayr-Achleitner, 24, was playing her first final in a tournament that saw seven of the top eight seeds beaten in the opening round.
Another Spaniard, Anabel Medina Garrigues, won the clay Palermo event in Italy for the fifth time on Sunday, with the fifth seed beating Polona Hercog 6-3 6-2.
Her seventh-seeded Slovenian opponent was playing her second successive final, with the 20-year-old having won the women's tournament in Bastad earlier this month.
