Uganda's lost rhinos —
Uganda was once populated by the northern white rhino, but the breed was wiped out of the country by 1983. Only six remain is existence. Recently, in an attempt to repopulate Uganda with white rhinos, NGO Rhino Fund Uganda started a breeding program with the more populous southern white rhino.

Grazing cattle —
Cattle graze at Ziwa Sanctuary in Uganda. The cows keep the grass short -- with is the length the resident rhinos like best. By letting cows graze in the day, the sanctuary helps maintain a good relationship with the local community.

Ziwa Sanctuary employs 80 rangers to monitor the handful of resident rhinos 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They can shoot armed poachers on sight.
