The original Calcutta Cup trophy was designed in India in 1878 to commemorate an annual match between Scotland and England. In 1988 the cup -- made out of melted Indian Rupees -- was damaged, and replicas were ordered to preserve the original, which now sits in the Museum of Rugby in Twickenham.
