Palestinian health officials say a 12-year-old was shot and killed in Al-Ram

Israeli police say there was no gunfire, just tear gas and stun grenades

Jerusalem CNN  —

A 12-year-old Palestinian boy was shot and killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank on Tuesday night, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said, a claim disputed by Israeli police.

The ministry identified the boy as Muhyi Sedqi al-Tabakhi from Al-Ram.

Israel police spokeswoman Luba Samri said Israeli forces never opened fire. Israeli border police officers were in Al-Ram to return the body of a suspected Palestinian attacker who was killed in an incident approximately a week ago, she said.

According to Samri, protesters threw Molotov cocktails at the forces, who responded with tear gas and stun grenades.
