Linro Meade was the last child of 14 born to Robert and Myrtie Meade. In this photo, he is about 3 years old in the backyard of the home where the family lived in Eastern Kentucky. Courtesy Robin Meade
This is the house where Linro Meade was born, built by hand by his father on rented land using no modern machinery. The chimney was made from rocks and clay mortar and the lumber is rough sawn. It was never painted and had no running water or heat, with the exception of a small fireplace. Courtesy Robin Meade
