The Elizabeth line will stretch more than 60 miles from Reading and Heathrow in the west through central tunnels across to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east.
The line is expected to be completely operational in December 2019.
Ten new stations will be built, including Woolwich Station, pictured here.

Construction of the line will cost $20bn and will contribute to a 10% expansion to Central London's transport capacity.
