Gaga took a moment to address the audience during her appearance Saturday at the Park MGM in Las Vegas before performing “Shallow.”
The Oscar-winning song from “A Star Is Born” is the now-famous duet between Gaga and Cooper, who slayed it at the last Academy Awards ceremony.

But what Gaga wanted to talk about Saturday was LGBTQ rights, specifically that early on she was told her image was “too gay” with her gay-friendly anthems and outreach to the LGBTQ community.
“I remember saying, ‘Well, I don’t see it that way, but there’s also gay people in the world,’” Gaga told the audience. “They told me it wouldn’t work and they tried to change me, but I never let them.”
“You know why, because I thought they were shallow,” she added.
Gaga then went on to talk about labels, but it was what she said right before launching into the song that some people might need to hear.
“Oh, and one more thing,” Gaga said. “Be kind, be kind or f**k off.”
