Keith Oppenheim

Keith Oppenheim is a national correspondent for CNN. Based in CNN's Chicago bureau, Oppenheim files feature stories and breaking news reports.

In 2005, Oppenheim was among the CNN crew that covered the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina from the U.S. Gulf Coast. In September 2003, Oppenheim reported live from the battered North Carolina coastline during Hurricane Isabel, and, in February 2003, he was dispatched to Texas and helped report the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy.

Before joining CNN in 1997, Oppenheim ran his own Detroit-based production company, Oppenheim Productions. He worked as a general assignment reporter for WDIV-TV in Detroit; WJAR-TV in Providence, R.I.; WYOU-TV in Scranton, Pa.; and KOVR-TV in Sacramento, Calif.

Oppenheim earned a bachelor's degree from Brown University and a master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.
