Breaking NewsAP: Rocker Baseball Suspension Cut in HalfAired March 1, 2000 - 1:45 p.m. ETTHIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED. NATALIE ALLEN, CNN ANCHOR: Another story that we're just hearing about has to do with a Major League Baseball player: John Rocker. There's a report that baseball suspension of the Atlanta Braves pitcher will be cut in half. The Associated Press is reporting that Rocker will be allowed to report to spring training camp this week, and he'll be allowed to start playing 14 days into the regular season. Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig had suspended Rocker for a full month of the regular season, for making derogatory comments about minorities. But the Player's Association appealed the suspension to an arbitrator. Now it like his suspension is cut to two weeks.
