Missile Attack in Gaza

Aired June 10, 2003 - 08:13   ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Developing news again from the Middle East today. If you were with us a short time ago, we reported on that missile attack in Gaza that apparently killed a woman and her daughter and injured 25 others. The object of that strike was apparently the spokesperson for Hamas. He, we are told, survived it with a leg wound and is now being treated at a local hospital near Gaza City.
Mahmoud Abbas is the new Palestinian prime minister. He has just had words with reporters in the West Bank. He is calling this an act of terrorism. He says it sabotages the peace process. Strong words from the new Palestinian prime minister directed at Israel.

As soon as we get more on this, we'll give it to you.

That's the latest, though, from the Middle East at this hour.
