• Isa Soares is an award-winning international correspondent and anchor, based in CNN's London bureau.

    In her role as correspondent Soares has covered a range of stories in the UK and Europe, including the Paris attacks in January 2015, the Nice attack in 2016 and the migrant crisis in the Mediterranean for which she won an AIB award for television journalism.

    Soares has been central to CNN's coverage of the Eurozone debt crisis, filing reports from Portugal, Spain and France. She has also reported extensively from Greece where she covered the country's debt crisis and its three IMF bailouts. Soares has also covered the economic impact of the conflict in Ukraine, the Catalonian referendum, the resurgence of anti-Semitism in France, the spread of Ebola from West Africa and the Scottish referendum.

    During the 2014 World Cup Soares reported for CNN, CNN International and CNN Espanol from locations in Brazil and Argentina.

    As an anchor, Soares has interviewed a raft of business leaders including the CEOs of Pirelli, Lufthansa, Vodafone and Audi among others. She also had a rare sit-down with LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, tennis star Rafael Nadal and football legend Pelé.

    Prior to becoming a full time correspondent, Soares worked on high profile stories as a producer and reporter for prime time business programme Quest Means Business with Richard Quest.

    Soares received a Bachelor's degree in Hispanic and Lusophone studies from King's College London and a Master's degree in International Relations and Economics from the University of Bristol. She is fluent in Spanish, French and Portuguese.
