Marshall Cohen is a CNN reporter based in Washington, DC. Since joining CNN in 2015, he has covered the 2016 election, the Russia investigation, Trump-Ukraine impeachment, the 2020 election and the January 6 insurrection.
His work has focused on high-profile legal cases, Justice Department investigations, and congressional probes. He has appeared on-air for CNN and in original videos for CNN.com, and has published hundreds of articles, fact-checks, analysis pieces and interactive projects.
Cohen has received several awards over the years. He won an Emmy Award in 2020 and has received three additional Emmy nominations. He has also received awards from the Radio & Television Correspondents’ Association and from the Society of Professional Journalists.
Before joining CNN, Cohen was a producer at CBS News, and worked for its Sunday morning public affairs program, “Face the Nation.”
Cohen was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Northwestern University with degrees in journalism and political science.
