Sophie Jeong is an Associate Producer based in Seoul, South Korea. She plays an integral part of CNN's coverage of North and South Korea on TV and digital platforms.
Jeong has covered some of the biggest stories on the Korean peninsula, including North Korea's missile launches and sixth nuclear test, the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, three inter-Korean summits in 2018, the North Korea-United States summit in Singapore and the reunions of families separated during the Korean War.
She joined CNN in 2017 and was previously based at CNN's Atlanta headquarters, where she worked with various departments such as the International Newsgathering Desk, CNN International programming, International Newsource and Media Operations.
Prior to joining CNN, Jeong studied at Vanderbilt University in the US, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies and Asian studies as a Chancellor's Scholar.
