This reproduction of a picture from the Homai Vyarawala's collection shows Indian photographer Homai Vyarawalla in her early years. The picture was published in the book "India In Focus : Camera Chronicles of Homai Vyarawalla" authored by Sabeena Gadihoke. Vyarawalla, 98, died on January 15, 2012 in Vadodara. Vyarawalla photographed the last days of the British Empire and her work traces the birth and growth of a new nation.
