Christ the Redeemer (Rio de Janeiro) —
Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer is 30-meters high and weighs 635 tons. With rods on its arms, head and hands, the statue is hit by lightning on average 12 times per summer.

Christ of the Abyss (Florida) —
Sitting seven meters below the water surface, Christ of the Abyss is located in Key Largo, Florida. It's visible to swimmers but for a detailed look at the carvings it's easiest to slap on some scuba diving gear.

Buddha Dordenma (Bhutan) —
Due for completion next year, Thimphu, Bhutan's Buddha Dordenma will house 125,000 smaller Buddhas and a meditation hall.
